Marvel Studios has confirmed that the 3rd part of the Black Panther movie is set for an exclusive theatre release on 15 December 2028.

The movie director, Ryan Coogler, made the announcement as he also shared that actor David Jonsson is the new Black Panther during the 2026 Comic-Con International, held in San Diego, California.

Ryan Coogler offered fans a glimpse into the character David Jonsson will portray, tying the story directly to the emotional thread left by the late Chadwick Boseman. He said, "The last time we got to make a movie, we introduced a character who is the son of the character that the great Chadwick Boseman played, our T'Challa, in that film. And today, I want to tell you that in this next film, he grows up and comes of age."

The announcement marks a full-circle moment as 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' was first introduced to global audiences with the film starring the late Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa.

Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio Hosts Mining CEOs to Mobilise Strategic Partnerships for West Africa Integration and Investment Summit 2026

His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio hosted Chief Executive Officers and General Managers of leading mining companies operating in Sierra Leone at an official luncheon at State House to present the upcoming West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS) 2026 and seek strategic partnerships ahead of the landmark regional event scheduled for November.

The luncheon brought together leaders of the mining sector and senior government officials, reflecting the Government's commitment to working with the private sector to position Sierra Leone as a leading destination for investment and regional economic integration.

Welcoming the executives, President Bio described WAIIS 2026 as "a pivotal moment for Sierra Leone's transformative agenda", built on a shared vision of trust and prosperity, and thanked the mining companies for their continued investment and confidence in the country.

"This Summit is about building the foundation for an integrated African market where more value remains on the continent. You are not merely operators of mineral resources; you are development partners," the President said.

President Bio said the Summit would create a platform for governments, investors, financiers and private sector actors to forge partnerships and unlock investment opportunities across the ECOWAS region. He highlighted dedicated sector-focused investment rooms that will connect project sponsors, mining companies, development finance institutions, commercial banks, private equity firms and investors to facilitate structured business engagements.

Inviting the companies to become funding sponsors and strategic partners of WAIIS 2026, the President said the Summit was designed to generate business opportunities, investment commitments and transformative projects that strengthen Sierra Leone's position as a preferred investment destination while advancing regional economic integration.

Reaffirming his Government's commitment to investors, President Bio assured participants of continued policy consistency, regulatory transparency, responsible and environmentally sustainable mining, improved infrastructure and energy access, as well as stronger local partnerships and workforce development.

Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change, Renewable Energy and Food Security, Hon. Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, thanked President Bio for his visionary leadership in constructing the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre, which will host the Summit. He outlined WAIIS 2026's four strategic pillars: Energy, Trade and Industrial Growth; Strategic Minerals and Natural Resource Development; Agribusiness and Food Systems Transformation; and Digital Transformation and Connectivity.

Dr. Yumkella said the Summit would produce priority investment pipelines, analytical reports and outcome documents, facilitate partnerships between governments and the private sector, and accelerate regional economic integration through bankable projects across the ECOWAS region.

Speaking on behalf of the mining companies, the Chief Executive Officers and General Managers pledged their full support for WAIIS 2026, describing it as a laudable initiative that would benefit Sierra Leone, the ECOWAS region and Africa by fostering meaningful partnerships and investment agreements.

The luncheon was attended by Chief Executive Officers and General Managers from Leone Rock Metal Group, Sierra Rutile Limited, Fison Resources SL Limited, FG Gold Mining Company, PG Mining SL Limited, Leone Afric Metals Sierra Leone Limited, Minenet Company Limited, CTC Mining and Gold Lion Mining Company, alongside senior government officials.

Man Says Enugu Air Pilot Deserves Award After Aircraft Skids Off Runway

A man has praised the pilot of an Enugu Air aircraft that reportedly skidded off the runway, describing the pilot's actions as heroic and saying he deserves an award for ensuring the safety of everyone on board.

According to the man, the pilot's professionalism and quick decision-making prevented what could have been a far more serious incident. He commended the flight crew for remaining calm and effectively managing the situation despite the aircraft leaving the runway.

The incident has sparked discussions on social media, with many users also applauding the pilot and cabin crew for safely evacuating passengers and minimizing the risk of injuries.

Meanwhile, aviation authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the runway excursion to determine its cause. Such investigations typically examine factors including weather conditions, runway conditions, aircraft performance, and operational procedures.

No official conclusion has yet been released regarding the cause of the incident, and authorities have urged the public to await the outcome of the investigation.

LIBERIAN-AMERICAN SECURITY EXPERT QUESTIONS LNP NARRATIVE ON JOHNNY DEAN BRIBE, SAYS US$10K "COMFORT FEE" SUGGESTS DEEPER TIES IN US$370M DRUG CASE

Monrovia, Liberia – Liberian-American security expert Alfred Jahn Johnson, also known as Polozika J. Doe, has raised serious questions about the Liberia National Police’s handling of the case involving CPO Johnny B. Dean of Unit 106, who was recently linked to a bribery allegation in connection with a major drug case.

In a social media post Thursday, Johnson said while he commends the LNP for providing an update on one of its officers, he finds the official explanation difficult to accept.

“To believe that suspects arrested just two days ago would, within 48 hours, gain enough confidence to offer a highly-placed police leader US$10,000 for ‘some comfort’ is hard to accept,” Johnson wrote.

The expert argued that in large-scale drug operations such as the US$370 million co***ne case currently unfolding in Liberia, those involved do not easily place trust in outsiders, especially law enforcement officers.

“There is a possibility that CPO Johnny Dean’s involvement may be beyond just giving mere ‘comfort’ while the suspects are in custody,” Johnson stated.

“Why did the arrested individuals and their connections feel comfortable to reach out to 106 just after two or so days in police custody?”

Johnson urged the LNP and relevant oversight bodies to “explore that connection beyond the ‘conspiracy after the fact’ situation,” suggesting there may be a pre-existing relationship that warrants deeper investigation.

“Large drug networks do not operate on impulse. There is likely more to that relationship than what is being made to believe,” he added.

The LNP announced earlier this week that Dean, head of Unit 106, was arrested after suspects allegedly offered him US$10,000 while in custody.

The police have described the incident as an attempted bribe.

As of press time, the LNP had not released further details on the scope of its internal investigation into Dean’s conduct or possible links to the broader drug network.
