Anastasia and I carry heavy hearts in writing this post. After many months of trying to fit our lives and business together, through many losses and challenges, we have to accept that the end of Myrtle & Soap is here.
We’re so sad to lose all the friends we made along the way but we both have to move on and we’re ready for new things.

While micas, naturally occurring minerals, are often used to add sparkle to products like eyeshadows, lip glosses, and bath bombs, they come with ethical and environmental concerns, such as child labour and pollution. 😯
That's why we don’t use micas as colourants!
🌱Instead, we use natural colourants like herbal and fruit powders (for instance chamomile, cocoa, cranberry), offering a more sustainable alternative. These plant-based options are biodegradable, versatile, and can even have skin benefits. ❤️
❓️Wondering how to tell if a product contains micas?
📍Look for the term "mica" on the ingredient list, or check for Color Index (CI) numbers like "CI 77019."
