Meet Dr. Núria Roure and step inside our latest conversation at AIRE Ancient Baths Barcelona.
Together, we explored the place relaxation holds in our everyday lives and what it means to move from reactive rest to making space for small moments of pause throughout the day. A reminder to make space for rest, every day.
Why do we feel guilty when we pause?
Nearly 6 out of 10 people feel guilty resting without a productive purpose.
We’ve turned rest into a reward, something earned only once we reach the brink of exhaustion.
Last Tuesday at AIRE Ancient Baths Barcelona, we paused to challenge that logic alongside psychologist and rest expert Núria Roure. Rest shouldn’t be the prize for finishing everything, nor a reactive cure for burnout, it should be an essential, natural part of how we live.
What followed was a shift from reflection to stillness. Surrounded by flickering candlelight and thermal waters, our guests experienced a different kind of slowing down: rest that isn’t reactive, but intentional.
You shouldn’t have to reach your limit to embrace a moment of pause.
The pleasure of making time.
We’re so used to measuring our time by what we get done. Another task. Another goal. Another box ticked.
But what if some of the best use of your time is simply… enjoying it?
Not everything needs a purpose. Not every moment needs a result. Sometimes, time well spent is time that gives nothing back, except the feeling of having truly lived it.

As you return to your routine, make time for yourself.
When life gets busy, the things we love are often the first things to go.
The things that make us feel like ourselves deserve a place in our days, too. Maybe it is time to make room for them again. The pleasure of making time

Personal time and exercise are among the first things to disappear when life gets busy.
We make room for everything else by forgetting ourselves.
Reconnect with personal rituals, hobbies, and exercise to free your mind and reclaim what your busy days keep taking.

The season ahead is already finding its way into your calendar. But somewhere between it all, leave room for something just as important: time for yourself.
Because your time deserves to hold more than a to-do list.

Resting is productive too. Value doesn't only happen in "doing mode". Your brain needs recovery to stay focused and regulated.
