Acne is a peculiar skin condition that can be caused by a variety of reasons:
🟡 hormonal changes ( puberty, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause)
🟡 bacterial ( for example too much streptococcus pyogenes)
🟡 chronic stress ( high cortisol, sleep deprivation)
🟡 high testosterone ( PCOS and other conditions that suppress estrogene)
🟡 diet ( high sugar, malnutrition, highly processed food, etc)
🟡 hygiene ( picking skin with dirty hands, not washing towels enough, but this one is rare tbh)
There’s no easy fix, but nature offers a variety of plants that can help heal the skin faster, preserve the skin barrier and calm the inflammation down.
Vitamin A is a must. In nature it’s found in seeds of tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, spinach, rosehips and it’s one of the best ways to renew and heal the skin. There are many forms of vitamin A ( from retinols, tretinoin etc) but all of them will work. We noticed that customers with acne respond the best to Broccoli + Carrot oil.
The oil provides a large dose of beta carotene’s ( think retinol but safe, side effect free), vitamin E for moisture and soothing and linoleic acid to rebuild your skin barrier ( so the skin can heal).
We also love sage, tansy, calendula, chamomile as tonics to prep and rejuvenate the skin. Tonics have water soluble compounds and complement oils beautifully ( oils have fat soluble compounds like vit and E)
Winter selfcare ❄️
Winter is for rest, reflection and surrender to nature. There’s wind, snow and stillness.
Oils are perfect to protect your skin from the wind, cold, heating and everything in between.
Oils coat the skin, deliver a ton of vitamin E ( vitamin e is in all cold pressed oils). Vitamin E is responsible for protecting the skin, moisturising, softening and keeping it healthy. Oils are sealants, so they seal the skin and keep the moisture in. Unlike water products, oils don’t mind the cold ❄️ and you may not even need a moisturiser with your oil.
Oil face wash ( ours is from spinach ) is a wonderful way to cleanse your skin and deposit both vitamin E and A ( vitamin A is a vitamin of renewal).
Oils protect your skin barrier and gently take it through the harshest of the seasons, especially if you live in the northern hemisphere.

Happy Christmas and Solstice season🎄🌝🌙✨
I’d love to thank every one and each of you for 2025. It’s been such an extraordinary year, which we started with a break-in in the shop, ups and downs, and the most incredible finish to the year.
As the year draws to an end, our lovely will sadly leave us to go and learn organic farming and live the perfect witch life in nature 🌱. We will miss her dearly, so pop over on the 27th to say goodbye.
I wish you the most loving Christmas season, full of hygge and magic. Hopefully 2026 will bring new beautiful beginnings the world needs✨
