"But I'm still functioning..."
This is a phrase I often hear.
You do your work. You get the groceries. You reply to messages. You might even take care of everyone else around you. From the outside, it actually looks like you have it all under control.
But on the inside, it can feel completely different.
Perhaps everyday things require more energy than they used to. You get irritable more quickly. You find it harder to manage small tasks. Your body tenses up. And when you finally have the chance to relax, you can't really find any peace.
You don't have to reach the point where you can't function at all before you take it seriously ❤️
Sometimes the body has been trying to tell us something long before we actually start to listen.
So maybe the question isn't just: "Can I still manage it?"
But also: "How am I actually doing while I do it?"
Do you recognize this? Please feel free to share in the comments if you do 🥰
Warmly, Axel 🌿

🌿 CHANGE IS NOT A LEAP, IT IS A MOVEMENT.
In therapy, we sometimes talk about the stages of change, a model developed by James Prochaska and Carlo DiClemente.
It describes the phases we naturally move through when we need to change something in our lives.
But in body-oriented therapy, this model offers an extra realization:
Change is not just about willpower. It is about the readiness of the nervous system.
Many of us have tried thinking:
“Now I just need to pull myself together.”
“Now I need to do something different.”
But if the body is still in alarm, freeze, or over-compliance, action is not the first step.
🌒 First comes awareness.
🌓 Then ambivalence.
🌔 Then small, internal movements.
🌕 Then action.
🌖 And sometimes, back again.
Relapse is not a defeat. It is the nervous system's way of saying: “This doesn’t feel entirely safe just yet.”
In stress therapy, we often see that:
–One part of us longs for change.
– Another part protects us from it.
Both parts make sense.Change happens when the body experiences enough safety to let go of the old ways. It is not a leap. It is a circular movement.
One step. A pause. One more step.
If you are standing in the middle of something that feels like a standstill, maybe it isn't resistance.
Maybe it is a stage.
And that is okay ❤️
If any of this resonates with you, you are more than welcome to contact me. You don’t need to have it all figured out. We start by creating calm and safety, and we take it from there.
Warm regards, Axel

She had problems because of work, but targeting the right muscles, and relaxing her nervous system helped long term.

Although I use acupuncture in my treatments and often get great results, it has always been hard for me to understand exactly how.
If you don't resonate with the traditional Chinese explanation (energy lines in the body), this is for you :
You can understand acupuncture through a "fascia-based" lens by viewing the fascia as the physical substrate for traditional acupuncture channels and points.
Instead of focusing on "qi" (energy), this approach suggests that acupuncture needles stimulate the fascia, a connective tissue network, to trigger a variety of physiological effects like the release of tension, increased circulation, and neuromodulation.
Research has shown anatomical correlations between fascial planes and acupuncture meridians (energy lines), and stimulating fascia can influence the nervous system, which may explain acupuncture's pain-relieving and functional benefits.
What do you think of this approach ?

One of the most powerful things you can do for your wellbeing doesn't cost anything.
Spend time with people you feel good around. ❤️
We often think about health in terms of exercise, food, sleep and stress management.
But our social relationships matter too.
Think about how different your body can feel after spending time with someone you trust and enjoy.
You usually feel lighter, more relaxed and more energised. sometimes also more inspired !
And on the other hand, when life becomes stressful, busy or overwhelming, one of the first things many people stop doing is seeing their friends and family.
But connection is a big part of what helps us feel better.
In fact, a major analysis of more than 300,000 people found that strong social relationships were a stronger predictor of longevity than factors such as obesity and physical inactivity — with an effect on mortality comparable to some well-known health risks, including smoking.
This is something I often think about in my work as a massage therapist.
Sometimes, what a person really needs is an hour where they can slow down, and reconnect, both with themselves and with others.
So here's your little reminder:
Who is someone you feel good after spending time with?
Maybe this week is a good time to give them a call. ❤️

Some manual treatment and a change of her breathing pattern changed the whole thing 🙂

When Pari first came to me, she had been dealing with neck pain every single day for at least 6 months.
On top of that, she was experiencing headaches around 4 times a week.
She was under a lot of stress, constantly tired and drained, struggling with her sleep and losing her motivation. Eventually, she ended up feeling completely burned out, and had to stop working.
During her examination, we found that her breathing pattern and muscle tension were contributing to keeping her body in this stressed state.
So instead of simply treating where it hurt, we worked on the underlying patterns.
We worked with her breathing, reduced the physical tension and incorporated acupuncture to help her body come out of that constant state of stress.
Today, Pari has been symptom-free for months.❤️
No more daily neck pain.
No more headaches.
Better sleep.
More energy and motivation.
She now enjoys going to work again and, perhaps most importantly, can be more present with her family and friends without constantly worrying about pain or how she is feeling.
Pari's story is a great example of what can happen when we find those factors and work with the body as a whole.
Congratulations to Pari walking that path !❤️
