🌍 Reflections from 2026 🌍

Another inspiring Folkemøde has come to an end, and once again we were encouraged by the strong engagement around global health, gender equality, and sustainable development.

This year, we had the pleasure of hosting the Menstrual Bar & Debate, creating a space for open conversations about menstrual health, dignity, and the barriers that millions of girls and women continue to face around the world.

We were delighted to see partner organisations, young people, decision-makers, and curious festival participants stop by, join the discussion, ask challenging questions, and help break down the stigma surrounding menstruation.

Menstrual health is not only a health issue. It is an education issue, a gender equality issue, a climate issue, and an economic development issue. Ensuring access to information, products, and supportive environments is essential if we are serious about achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

A special thank you to our fantastic partners WaterAid Denmark, S*x & Samfund, and the Danish Alliance for Global Health for co-creating this important event and helping to keep menstrual health on the agenda.

The conversations at Folkemødet reaffirmed something we see every day in our work: when we bring together civil society, youth, businesses, governments, and local communities, we can drive meaningful change.

We look forward to continuing our work with partners across Africa, Asia, and beyond to strengthen local manufacturing, create jobs, and ensure that quality menstrual health solutions are accessible to those who need them most.

Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation. Let's keep the momentum going.

We are excited to once again be part of Folkemødet and this year we will be at the Global Health Bazaar at the Sustainable Development Goals Square.

At Real Relief, we will be focusing on menstrual health, dignity, and sustainable solutions. Stop by our colorful bar, where together with and , we will be inviting visitors to join conversations about menstruation, rights, and access to products that make a difference for women and girls around the world.

We believe that open dialogue is the first step towards meaningful action, and we look forward to meeting both new and existing partners, friends, and curious visitors.
See you at the SDG Square!

💙 As we wrap up this year's Kicking Off the Dialogue on Menstrual Health campaign, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, participated, shared their stories, and helped keep the conversation alive.

It has been an incredible month, and we have truly appreciated hearing your perspectives, experiences, ideas, and commitments to creating positive change.
Together, we have highlighted the importance of menstrual health, challenged stigma, and strengthened the collective voice calling for dignity, access, and opportunity for girls and women everywhere.

While this campaign may be coming to an end, the dialogue certainly should not.
Let's continue the conversation, build new partnerships, and work together towards our shared vision of a period-friendly world—where no one is held back by menstruation.

Thank you for being part of the journey. The dialogue continues 🌍💙

💙 Thank You for an Inspiring Evening in Copenhagen 💙
Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting a special event in Copenhagen together with Beluna, bringing together people who share a commitment to creating a more equitable and sustainable future for girls and women.
The evening was an opportunity to discuss the importance of menstrual health, dignity, and access to sustainable solutions, while highlighting how local production and strong partnerships can help create lasting change in communities around the world.
We are grateful for the engaging conversations, the valuable perspectives shared, and the genuine interest shown by everyone who attended. Events like these remind us that meaningful change happens when people come together around a common purpose.

A special thank you to Beluna for partnering with us and helping make the event possible. And thank you to all participants, supporters, and friends who joined us and contributed their energy, curiosity, and commitment.

Together, we can continue working towards a future where no girl or woman is held back by a lack of access to menstrual health products, information, or opportunities.
Thank you for being part of the journey 🌍

Acceptability and effectiveness of a Supertowel intervention for handwashing in a humanitarian setting in Northeast Nigeria 27/05/2026

For our followers with an interest in the more technical and research-based side of humanitarian innovation, please find a great article about Supertowel and its use in humanitarian settings 🧼🌍

Handwashing saves lives — but what happens when soap and water aren’t always available?

The is an innovative microfiber towel with antimicrobial properties, designed specifically for contexts where access to soap and water can be limited.

A 15-month study conducted in camps in Northeast Nigeria explored how the Supertowel performed in real-life humanitarian settings through household surveys, focus groups, observations, and laboratory testing.

Key findings included:
✔️ Users appreciated the feel, smell, water-saving qualities, and ease of use
✔️ The towel continued removing E. coli effectively, even after long-term use
✔️ Participants suggested improvements such as larger sizes, more colors, and clips for easier storage and transport

The study highlights how practical hygiene innovations can make a real difference in complex humanitarian environments — while also underlining the importance of user feedback and long-term field research.
