Who here is craving to disconnect from technology and reconnect to nature?
Comment ONE WORD that describes the feeling you'd have standing right here amid all this beautiful, lush greenery!
p.s. - I created this marketing flyer in the form of a postcard and I was so pleased with it π The French version of these went to a sustainable travel expo in Martinique over the summer.

6 years ago today we emerged from our shelters to jaw-dropping devastation.
In our ongoing recovery, we become more and more encouraged and empowered by recognising what we have achieved in the years since. We donβt need to dwell on what we lost - those things are confined to the past. Moving forward with little more than memories, we , we , we make lifestyle changes and we use all available resources to enhance the way we build our homes and communities. and the storms of life will continue to come, and leave in their wake work for the ones who are able.
In my personal reflection upon Hurricane today, I celebrate what Iβve accomplished so far, and how all the experiences along the way have shaped who I am and how I live.
The past 6 years have included:
an evacuation off-island
at least 1 year without running water πΏ
4 years without an oven
about 5 years without standard voltage electricity
6 years without a fridge, freezer or washing machine
10 months living in a tent βΊ
2 weeks of inaccessibility due to
64 planted π³
43 (29 rabbits, 1 cow, 4 lambs, 4 kittens & 5 chicks)
22 farm deaths (mostly bunnies) π’
19 animals adopted
7 farm-raised slaughters
5 toxic people blocked β
3 animals sold
2 fully plumbed bathrooms π
1.5 ventures established
1 home-birth (human) π₯°
a gigantic stack of
a far bigger mound of
a bunch of answered
a sh*tload of
sooo much , research and skills development
and the same old partially-reliable car! π
I canβt list all the people who have physically helped or supported me in other ways β you know who you are and I am so to each and every one of you!!
Extra special thanks to my wonderful and the Almighty who has blessed me and my and continues to do so π
Looking forward to beginning this 7th year post-Maria, during which I hope to include more rest!

Itβs pretty rare for me to see a female pumpkin/squash flower. So when I saw this one this morning, I had to find a male stamen to pollinate it.
Ready to have more giant veggies around π

Blessed with a very beautiful and healing project. Therein lies a story of overcoming, discovering, evolving, connecting and shedding anything toxic.
Peace!

Land/farm management without animals is time-consuming, costly and pretty close to futile. I would not have coped over the past years without the conversion of weeds into organic fertiliser by livestock!
