Unfortunately due to a large number of no shows or very late cancellations I am going to be taking deposits on treatments with over €30 value from the clients that do this more than twice
I really didn’t want to have to do this but I have a list of people wanting appointments that I can’t fit in! By the time I know that my client isn’t turning up it’s too late to get anyone on the cancellation list in!
I am running a business and try to keep my prices affordable, but since 15 January I’ve over €100 in no show appointments- I still have to pay rent, electricity, insurance and Social Security!

TPO free gels
100% compliant with the new EU law

Despite the alarming headlines saying that gel polishes are banned in the EU, they are not!

An ingredient of most gel polishes TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide) has been banned in the EU from 1 September 2025.

A study carried out on animals involved them ingesting high amounts of TPO and the results of these studies prompted the EU to ban this substance.
Although the amount of exposure to TPO that people experience with gel nail polish is very low, and that most applications of the beauty product put the user at minimal risk of the harmful effects found by the animal study (reproductive and fertility issues) the EU has imposed this ban

Unfortunately 98% of my gel stock contained TPO so because of this and the wholesaler in the EU increasing the prices of the new TPO compliant polishes I have decided to change my brand!

I’ve been doing lots of research, have had valuable help and feedback from a couple of local nail techs and will be taking delivery of my new stock this week.

The new brand is TPO free, also contains no HEMA or HPMA so no nasty allergens.

So nail services will continue as normal but will be TPO free and 100% compliant with the EU rules

Not my normal post but the new EU rules on TPO free gel products: unfortunately MOST BUT NOT ALL of my gel products contain TPO 🤦🏼‍♀️ even the order from the EU I purchased 5 weeks ago contain TPO?!?!?!
So unfortunately I will have to destroy most of my stock, the colours I have spent building over the last 5 years.
It’s been heartbreaking on a personal level and professionally as “a one women band” it’s been devastating financially. I’m having to dispose of €4,500 (min estimate) of stock and the “new TPO free products are 40% plus IVA more
expensive to comply with the new EU rules!
I will still use TGBinc gels as I love the their products, their backup for professionals is the best and I know their products inside out!
Please bear with me as you did 5 years ago when I rebranded to TGB and had just 20 colours!
I now have 190 colours that will go in the rubbish plus my stock of bases & tops that I keep 2+ of of.
