Seeing this project now recognized internationally makes me incredibly proud, especially for every single person who was part of it.

The Spiral
I can’t remember how many times I’ve created this look.

I think the first time was in Australia, back in 2013, at a show for Osdare.

Since then, that spiral has been with me on stages, in classrooms, in front of cameras — always returning to the simplicity that hooks me.

A single braid that travels across the entire head and builds a complete shape.

I’ve never seen it as an invention. Its roots live in African braiding traditions, an immense source of creativity and knowledge. My path has been to look at it through my own editorial language.

And it moves me to see how that perspective has inspired fellow hairdressers in different countries, and how each one has made it their own.

That’s one of the most beautiful parts of this craft.

Ideas travel.
They change.
They breathe.

Sometimes, after hours of braiding non-stop, my fingers remind me of the physical cost behind that simplicity. The fatigue, the cramps… they’re part of the memory too.

There are shapes that never leave you.

For me, The Spiral is one of them.

Sometimes I only need to scroll through my gallery to reconnect with that feeling.

Stockholm.
