Today I have yet again been reminded just how amazing our bodies really are.
This post isn't to boast about my skills as a myofascial therapist however to illustrate what our bodies are capable off when given half a chance.
Today was the last day I had with a client of mine who comes over every year for a month. This time I had the pleasure of working with him for 5 weeks. I have seen him twice a week for that time period.
He is 92 and this time his main concern was that he had lost his independence as he couldnt put his arms behind him to pull up his trousers. As well as not being able to lift his hand to his head to brush his hair, shave, brush his teeth.
Now some people might say well it will happen to all of us..that as we age we loose our flexibility and our range of movement.
I could not disagree more.
Today he greeted me at the door with both arms in the air waving at me.
He was so emotional that he has regained his independence in simple daily tasks as well as being able to return to his passion of playing tennis😲🙌👏
Our bodies truly are amazing however they need to be nourished and maintained to be able to work at their optimum.
