Hundreds of Imo State indigenes are set to benefit from a major financial intervention after Governor Hope Uzodimma approved a ₦300 million support fund targeted at Nigerian Law School students and citizens recently returned from South Africa.

Under the initiative, 250 returnees will each receive ₦1 million to help them rebuild their lives, settle back into society, and pursue new opportunities following their return to Nigeria.

The governor also approved financial assistance for 100 Imo students currently studying at the Nigerian Law School. Each student will receive ₦500,000 to ease the burden of rising educational and living expenses.

The intervention is being viewed as part of the state's effort to support vulnerable groups, invest in human capital development, and provide a lifeline to young people facing economic challenges.

For many beneficiaries, the package offers more than financial relief—it represents a fresh opportunity to restart, advance their education, and secure a more stable future.

Through deliberate policy reforms, strategic infrastructure investments, and an enabling business environment, we have positioned Imo State as a premier destination for investment and industrial growth, where investors can extract raw materials, process them, and market finished products; all within Imo State.

In my address to prospective investors at Invest Lagos 3.0, I emphasized that access to Imo State is now seamless by road, through our ongoing road revolution projects; by air, through the remodeling and upgrade of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport (SMICA); and by sea, through the dredging of the Orashi River.

These initiatives reinforce our Industrial Policy Framework, featuring a 10-year tax holiday for startups and the elimination of multiple taxation. Through the Orashi Electricity Company, Imo now generates, transmits, and distributes power, delivering 24-hour electricity in the Municipal City and expanding statewide.

I, therefore, extend a warm invitation to investors, industry leaders, and development partners across the world to explore the vast opportunities that abound in Imo State. Our State is open for business, our policies are investor-friendly, and we remain committed to creating shared growth and prosperity for all.

Hope Uzodimma went to Lagos state yesterday to woo investors into Imo State.

The plan is to present to them the Imo state that has already moved from analogue to a digital hub.

An Imo state that has 24/7 power supply.

An Imo state that is business orientated and friendly.

An Imo state that is positioned to welcome investors across the globe.

Prior to this visit, the government has tried everything possible to deliberately prepare the state for this economic revolution through good road networks, electricity, security and digital manpower.

This economic revolution will directly engage the unemployed youths in our state and increase the standard of leaving while improving the state IGR.

But some of the youths who are shallow in their mind have been running from one media space to the other to discredit these record breaking statements by the governor.

To them, they are fighting the government of Hope Uzodimma not knowing they are actually blocking opportunities that should come to them when this economic revolution starts.

My 1kobo advice, while trying so hard to discredit these facts. Do well to do a personal fact check.

Also try in your own way to promote and support the state government's drive to woo investors into the state.

You will be the bigger benefactor when this happens.
