Banaban Virgin Coconut Oil,Rabi,Fiji

The initial virgin coconut oil workshop conducted by our vco Consultant Elenoa F Ralulu of Soqosoqo Vakamarama office in Suva was held at Nuku hall Rabi in September 2010 and was generously funded by NZ High Commission Fund of $14,000.00
.Surpassing all expectations, the workshop initially registered 100 participants from the 4 villages of Rabi (almost all of whom were members of Banaban.Womens Organization). The workshop ended end of the week with a grand display of produced vco and other coconut by- products. The workshop was also a stepping stone to securing further assistance to fund the establishment of a factory to house what seemed to be 'pocket production' of vco after 3 years of knocking on all doors with the then Executive director Rabi Council of Leaders Marlie Rota. We are indeed grateful to
-IHRDP(Commissioner Northern's office and Ministry of Agriculture for the establishment of
the factory and machinery
- Nature Pacific /Banaban Virgin Coconut Oil Australia for funding the production materials, scented oils and labels worth $13,000.00
-Rabi Council of Leaders for providing our start off Working Capital of $12,000.00.
- Rabi community for their contribution to the labour work during the establishment of factory. Also a special koraba to individuals/ friends such as Dr. Sam Fullman, Umesh Chand, Terairube kaipati, Motetira Eri for their support.
