Pour ne plus avoir peur - jouée à l’oreille

I have a rare, severe degenerative disease called Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I (Hurler). It can sometimes give a life expectancy of around twenty years, but no one can predict it because the disease progresses differently for each person.

It causes many health problems, including heart, joint, hearing, and vision issues, as well as short stature. I have already had around 20 surgeries at only 18 years old to improve my quality of life, and I still have about 6 more to go.

Since I discovered Lucy (march 2021), I have dreamed of meeting her. I don’t really know how to explain it, but she is such an inspiration to me. She has been through so much, she is such a bright person and down-to-earth despite her success, and she supports causes and charities that are very important to me. Listening to her music and watching her movies helps me get through the difficult moments in my life.

This dream has almost become a need since I had emergency heart surgery on April 30. I had my aortic valve and mitral valve replaced and received a pacemaker. I spent three and a half weeks in the hospital and underwent four surgeries during that time.

During those 25 days in the hospital, when my life was at risk, besides thinking about my family, the thing that helped me stay strong and keep going was one sentence that I repeated to myself over and over:
« I have to get through this if I want to meet Karen Lucille Hale. »

Unfortunately, no official trip to France has been announced. But if you ever hear about one, please let me know in the comments (save this post just in case), and don’t hesitate to tag her as much as possible: 🙏🏻
