Over 40 Women Kidnapped in Two Days in Northern Nigeria

More than 40 people, mostly women, have been abducted in two separate attacks in northern Nigeria over the weekend. The kidnappings happened in Niger State and Zamfara State.

On Saturday, at least 47 farmers were taken while they were working in their farms. The attack happened in Rimi, a farming community in the Mariga area of Niger State. Most of the victims were women who were harvesting peanuts .

On Sunday, about 40 women were kidnapped from Yargada community in the Gusau area of Zamfara State . Local residents said the attackers also burned houses and forced many people to run away. One resident said the real number of people taken could be higher than what is being reported .

Who Is Behind the Attacks

The attackers are armed groups known locally as “bandits.” They ride motorcycles and have been terrorizing villages in northern Nigeria for many years. They raid communities, kill people, steal property, and burn homes . Kidnapping for ransom has become a big business for these groups .

A new report says kidnappers in Nigeria collected more than $5.8 million in ransom payments between July 2025 and June 2026. During that same time, at least 7,825 people were kidnapped — a 66 percent increase from the year before . Security experts say every time a ransom is paid, it funds the next kidnapping .

No Official Statement Yet

As of now, security agencies have not released an official statement about these latest attacks .

Nigerians Call for Probe of Senator Buba After Several Allegations of Sponsoring Terrorists

Nigeria's breaking news: A Nigerian senator, Shehu Buba, is facing serious accusations. Many people are calling for an official investigation into whether he is helping or sponsoring terrorists and bandits.

Senator Buba represents Bauchi South in the National Assembly. He has strongly denied all the allegations.
The accusations first appeared in 2024 and have come back again. People claim he helped bandits, terrorists, and kidnappers. They also say he gave money and support to these criminal groups.

One specific claim is that he paid for a 2024 Hajj trip for two people. Later, one of these people was arrested by security forces for having connections to banditry and kidnapping .

Another claim from a September 2026 interview says that an aide to the senator brought people linked to a notorious bandit leader, Dogo Gide, to Abuja for special training in using drones and sniping .

Senator Buba says the allegations are false and politically motivated. He believes his opponents are making up these stories to destroy his reputation and hurt his political career .

He says the trouble started after he changed political parties and announced he wants to run for governor of Bauchi State in 2027 .

Senator Buba says he has "nothing to hide." In September 2026, he voluntarily went to the Department of State Services (DSS), the police, and the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) to be investigated .

He has asked anyone with real evidence against him to bring it to the security agencies, not just post it on social media . He also says he is ready to go to court if a real case is found against him .

A group called the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance is now asking security agencies to do a full and independent investigation .

The group says they are not saying the senator is guilty. But they say the allegations are too serious to ignore. They want investigators to check phone records, bank records, and verify photos and videos that are going around .

Senator Buba was removed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence in November 2025. He was moved to a different committee that deals with livestock and farming .

Zamfara Governor Tells Wike — Join APC or Step Down as Minister

New York / Abuja — The political battle between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has escalated sharply. Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has issued a direct ultimatum: Wike must either join the APC or leave his position as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

"You Can't Be on Two Sides"

Governor Lawal made the statement in an interview with Channels Television's Inside Sources on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday.

"Our message is very, very clear: Be on one side. You can't be on two sides," Lawal said. "If you're in APC, please come out and support APC. Not you're supporting APC here and you're supporting other political parties somewhere else. It doesn't make sense. It's not done anywhere."

When asked directly whether the governors were asking Wike to join the APC, Lawal replied: "Exactly. What's the essence?"

The dispute centers on Wike's "Rainbow Coalition" — a cross-party platform he created to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid. Wike, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insists the coalition is separate from the APC and that supporting Tinubu for president does not require abandoning his party or backing APC candidates in other elections.

However, APC governors strongly reject this arrangement. They say they will not support any political structure that could weaken the APC or its candidates in the 2027 elections.

"APC All the Way from Head to Toe"

Governor Lawal said the APC governors' position will not change regardless of Wike's arguments.

"He can speak, he can say whatever he wants to say, but our position has been very, very clear: APC all the way from head to toe," Lawal stated.

The Zamfara governor also said he will raise the matter directly with President Tinubu once the President returns from his working vacation in Europe.

"It's something that I will take up with the President when he comes back. So, let there be a very, very clear line where this guy belongs to. It's either he's in APC or he's out. It's simple. And I go with my brothers, the governors," Lawal said.

Wike has not stayed silent. In earlier interviews, he dismissed the APC governors' opposition as "politically lazy" and insisted he never approached the APC Governors' Forum for any alliance.

He cited examples of other opposition governors — including Anambra's Chukwuma Soludo and Osun's Ademola Adeleke — who support Tinubu for president while their parties still field candidates for other positions. Wike argued this proves the APC governors' concerns have "no basis".

Wike also revealed that President Tinubu is fully aware of his political activities and the Rainbow Coalition.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, after a four-week working vacation in London and Paris. Governor Lawal's promise to raise the Wike issue with the President means this political showdown is likely to reach the highest level of government very soon.

A nation without defence forces is like a cow without a tail. The Nigerian Air Force has moved to acquire 12 of the world's most powerful combat helicopters, the AH-1Z Viper, to boost and intensify the fight against insurgency in Nigeria.

The AH-1Z Vipers are different from the TAI T129 ATAK attack helicopters the Nigerian Air Force already has; they are far more powerful, advanced, and lethal. NAF will also acquire 75 drone-proof combat vehicles for ground troopers.

🚨 JUST IN: Muslims are the majority in plateau state but they're sidelined from holding key positions like Governor, Deputy Governor, Director of DSS and other key positions in plateau.

Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir said Muslims deserves to hold top positions, calling on Muslims in Plateau State to vote for a Muslim/Muslim tickets.

The Sheikh said Muslims in Plateau State deserve greater representation in key positions of leadership, because of their numerical strength in the state.

He also urged Muslims in Plateau to use their votes to support a Muslim-Muslim ticket calling for justice and fairness toward Muslims.

Plateau State desperately needs surveillance drones, and anyone who opposes this is either a criminal or a potential criminal who needs to be questioned.

I repeat: you either support deploying drones, or you are hiding something you plan to carry out.

To be clear, when I say Plateau State needs drones, I am not advocating for private individuals to own them.

Just as the Enugu State Government under Governor Peter Mbah deployed high-tech AI drones, the Plateau State Government under Caleb Mutfwang must acquire this technology immediately.

In December 2025, the Enugu State Government deployed advanced, AI-enabled long-range surveillance drones to track criminal hideouts, monitor forest targets, and trace suspect movements across the state.

Governor Peter Mbah, through the Enugu State Security Trust Fund (ESSTF), took a bold step and ever since, the security impact has been undeniable.

The Enugu Drone Blueprint:
Drone Specifications: The indigenous "BeatDrone Hawk-Eye" long-range drones, manufactured by Beat Drone Limited, feature a 100 km operational radius, uninterrupted day-and-night surveillance, and advanced thermal imaging to monitor thick forests and adjoining territories.

Safety and Control Features: Each unit includes an ADS-B transponder, an emergency parachute recovery system, and a mobile command-and-control cockpit with direct VHF air traffic control communication.

Complementary Tactical Gear: Alongside the high-tech drones, the rollout included 10 Hilux 4x4 patrol vans, 40 motorcycles, 400 bulletproof vests, and 400 tactical helmets, all integrated directly into the state's Command and Control Centre and AI-embedded cameras.

If the Plateau State Government is truly serious about securing lives, it must adopt this model as a matter of urgent priority.

My assumption is that the people capable of proposing these modern strategies are completely absent from this administration's inner circle.

This is the tragic cost when technical expertise is replaced by political compensation. In moments like this, a government needs advisors with bold strategies, not sycophants who simply bow and say "Thank you, sir" while human lives are lost daily.

It is deeply ironic that politicians prefer yes-men over technical experts in ministries, commissions, and advisory roles.

Someone should copy and forward this post directly to Governor Caleb Mutfwang: show some backbone and make tough decisions.

Otherwise, you will never take full charge or contain this insecurity. You do not always have to be politically correct, do what allows you to sleep peacefully at night. You cannot please everyone, but our collective peace is far greater than any political interest.

If the administration eventually decides to deploy these drones, Hilux vans, and patrol bikes, anyone who attempts to sabotage or oppose the initiative should be arrested, questioned, and prosecuted if found complicit.

My name is Abdulaziz Dahiru of the Dawet family. My bloodline does not produce or raise cowards. I am speaking not as a Mwaghavul man or a Muslim but as a human being and a patriot.

In the face of persistent terror, security is not achieved through political appeasement, but through technical competence and unyielding resolve. When a government prioritizes political

Atiku Slams Tinubu, Says Leaders Must Reduce Suffering, Not Just Explain It

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has launched a sharp attack on President Bola Tinubu, declaring that true leadership is about easing the hardships of citizens—not just making excuses for them.

Speaking on Wednesday at an event organized by the Youth Wing of his party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku said: “Leadership is not the art of explaining suffering. Leadership is the responsibility to reduce it.”

Atiku painted a grim picture of life under the current All Progressives Congress (APC) government, stating that millions of young Nigerians are trapped in an economy where “the cost of simply surviving has become a daily battle.” He highlighted that graduates cannot find jobs, small businesses are collapsing, and families are struggling to afford basic needs.

He also slammed the government for using official statistics to mask widespread poverty and hunger. Citing figures from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), he noted that 767 factories have shut down and 335 more are in distress. He also pointed to an International Monetary Fund (IMF) report estimating that 63% of Nigerians now live below the poverty line.

Addressing the mass exodus of young professionals—known locally as "Japa"—Atiku called it “a verdict on a system that has failed.” He argued that the government cannot keep asking Nigerians to sacrifice while offering only explanations. He also criticized Tinubu for still blaming past administrations after three years in office, saying: “Great leaders are remembered for solving problems, not for endlessly rehearsing them.”

Atiku pledged that if elected in 2027, his government would expand access to finance for young entrepreneurs, reform education, and improve security. He also promised that at least 30% of his party's legislative candidates would be under the age of 40. “Your time is not tomorrow. Your time is now,” he told the youth.

Atiku also warned against any attempts to manipulate the upcoming Osun State governorship election, describing the heavy deployment of security forces as excessive and making it seem like “Nigeria is preparing for war rather than conducting an election.”

The comments signal an escalation of political tensions as the country gears up for the 2027 presidential election.
