It's silly how strangers can ruin your image of beauty even at a young age. I was always bullied for my appearances as a kid because I never truly fit in my town as one of the very few brown skinned girls in the 90's. I remember coming home crying one day and my dad taught me my most favorite life lesson. He taught me how to see the beauty in everything. From the zits on my face, to the way the dead fallen leaves crunched under my boots in the fall. He said that everything in this world has beauty, we just have to learn how to see it. I remember then just trying to take a single feature of anything and appreciating it's beauty. I soon realized how truly beautiful everyone and anything can be.

My goal at Vida Glam is enhance the natural beauty you already have. Because when something is already beautiful, the only thing you can do to beauty is, Glam it up!

'Tis the season to get your nails done! 🎄🎅 I haven't done nails or nail art in a loooong time and it was my first time using these products, and I had so much fun doing this set! I definitely need more practice but for the first time in a while it's not too shabby 😆

When I first moved to France, I was planning a wedding in a different country that I did not even speak the language in. I remember worrying about who was going to do my make-up and where I would get my hair done for my big day. The day came and my SIL hired a make-up artist for me but the language barrier made it totally impossible to express what I wished to get done. Usually it was my husband that would do all the translating for me, but since we weren’t allowed to see each other that day he wasn’t there to help LOL 😅
We both managed to get by with lots of pointing and hand gestures, but boy do I remember the anxiety of wishing I could tell her exactly what I wanted.
This was one of the many reasons that inspired me to build Vida Glam Beauty Bar because as an immigrant, I just wanted to have a place where I could get pampered and express my needs and concerns in detail.
Learning a language doesn’t happen overnight! In fact it takes years! So as much as I wanted to integrate into this new country and learn the language as fast as possible, I realized that even with speaking the basic sentences, there are still intricate and specific terms that are more advanced to learn when you go to the salon.
I hope that Vida Glam BB can be that place for you to come, relax, and express what you want with your concerns, because we will be here to listen in Spanish, English and French!
