Mother’s Day is beautiful… but for me it’s always a little bit heavy too.
I lost my mum when I was young. For a long time I carried that quietly, but since having my own children I feel her absence in a completely different way. There are so many moments I wish she was here for.
What I’m incredibly grateful for is that before we lost her, my sister and I had the most perfect childhood. We were raised in the most loving family, in the most caring and safe environment. The kind of childhood every child deserves.
Being a mum is one of the greatest privileges and accomplishments of my life. Loving my children, protecting them, and raising them well will always be my number one priority.
A special mention today to my dad, who raised two teenage girls and did his absolute best to give us everything he could. I’m endlessly grateful for him.
