Most people managing pain are doing exactly what they've been told. You've seen your GP. You've spoken to a friend. Or you've spoken to the lady in B&M.
They said:
🛌🏾Rest it.
🩻Wait for the scan.
🦿Assume it's just wear and tear.
None of that advice is wrong — it's just incomplete.
And in the long run, it can keep you stuck. These three myths are the ones we hear most often in clinic.
They're believable. They sound logical. And they delay recovery by months — sometimes years.
If you've been trying to manage pain by following standard advice and it keeps coming back, this is worth a read.
Save it. Share it with someone who's going through the same thing.
And if you're ready to understand what's actually going on — not just manage symptoms — come and see us.

What are the 3 most common causes of running related injuries?
Can you guess what they are?
Nope...Not neglecting your warm up. Or neglecting a cool down. Not even your trainers.
They are:
🕙1. CHANGE IN DURATION
A sharp increase in running duration, whether that is session by session, or week on week, can lead to running related injuries. Your body takes time to tolerate longer distances.
🥵2. CHANGE IN INTENSITY
Many people end up in Zone 3 for running. Too quick to see aerobic benefits, too slow to see anaerobic benefits. This leads to increased recovery time and poor specificity of training.
🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️3. CHANGE IN FREQUENCY
It's easy to fall foul of change in frequency when you feel that endorphin hit from running. But new runners should make sure you give yourself at least 48 hours between bouts of running to allow for recovery and adaptation.
❌️Changing one of the above isn't a problem but, when we speak with our patients, most of them have changed more than 1 of the above at the same time which has lead to achilles/knee and hip related pain.
If you are struggling with any of the above, drop us a DM with the word "RUN" and we'll can put you on the right track.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Absolutely love this review from one of our patients as it sums up what we do for our patients.
💭Coming to Back2Front is much more than just treating your pain. It's understanding the deeper reasons for why you are suffering with the pain.
🪑Neck and shoulder pain is often caused by being too stationary for too long causing an inactivity and weakness of your neck, shoulders and upper back.
💪After the initial treatment by Nathan, he referred this patient into our Fit4Life classes, specifically designed by our physios to help prevent pain from returning and improve your overall health through exercise.
..And she continues to come to this day!

You may feel knee pain, but we see a whole lot more.
Knowing the diagnosis, gives us the ability to plan the treatment.
🚨 “Deadlifts are bad for your back…”
Are they really? 👀
Your back isn’t fragile. It’s designed to move, bend and become stronger.
The problem usually isn’t the exercise…
It’s doing more than your body is currently prepared for.
Strength comes from gradually challenging your body and building confidence 💪
So instead of fearing movement…
Let’s build a body that’s ready for it.
Struggling with back pain and unsure where to start?
📩 Message us “BACK” and we’ll help you find the right path.

🔉The Only Limits In Your Life Are Those You Set Yourself🔉
When it comes to physio and all things health, there are a multitude of things holding us back.
However, the biggest limit we see in our patients is the limit they've set themselves.
"I can't run that far"....We say "You will"
"I can never lift that"... We say "You can"
"My pain is stopping me"...We say "It won't"
Rome wasn't built in a day but in order to achieve success, you need to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Remove your limitations and you'll be surprised at what you can achieve.

"No treatment has worked for me"
"I worry my back pain will never go"
"I just don't know what to do"
These aren't just any phrases, these are 3 phrases we heard last week from our patients.
Back pain is worrying and you may feel helpless. But there is a way you can free yourself from back pain.
BUT....Just doing the exercises isn't going to help.
We've created a free guide to give you the information you need to take control of your back, your body and your mind.
Drop us a message with the words "BACKPAIN" and we'll send this guide to you for free.
