Beautiful results from this patient’s first anti-wrinkle treatment! ✨
(Particularly love how beautifully her frown lines responded - magic 🪄)
At her review, she mentioned that her eyelids felt a little heavier and that her makeup was sitting slightly differently. On assessment, there was no sign of eyelid drooping (ptosis) or any complications - the results looked beautiful, and no top-up was needed.
I explained that some patients, especially those with naturally hooded or heavier eyelids, can notice this sensation after treatment. When the forehead muscle is relaxed, there is less brow elevation, and some people become more aware of the feeling of heaviness around the upper eyelids. This is different from true eyelid ptosis, which is a rare complication.
I can actually relate to this myself 🫣 I have naturally hooded eyelids and experience the same sensation after my own anti-wrinkle treatments. It’s a difficult feeling to describe 🫨 but if you’ve experienced it, you’ll know exactly what I mean!
To help, we added a subtle lateral brow lift to create a gentle elevation of the outer brow. We’ll also make a note of this for her next treatment so I can adjust the forehead dosing and technique accordingly, while still achieving a beautiful, natural result. ✨

✨ Exciting new treatment coming to the clinic! ✨
I’m so excited to be introducing BioRePeel – an innovative skin treatment that helps improve your skin from the inside out, leaving it brighter, smoother and glowing.
BioRePeel is great for treating dull skin, uneven skin tone, acne and congestion, enlarged pores, pigmentation, fine lines and overall skin texture. It works by stimulating skin renewal while deeply hydrating and revitalising the skin, so you leave with a fresh, healthy glow.
One of the reasons I love this treatment is that there’s no injections, little to no downtime, and no dramatic peeling, making it perfect if you want visible results without putting your life on hold.

A lovely example of how a first-time botulinum toxin patient responded to an around-the-eye treatment. I’m really pleased with these results and, most importantly, so is my patient.
At today’s review, we decided not to top up (although we did top up other areas where it was needed, which is completely normal as well). It’s important to understand that If we relax the muscles around the eyes too much, the under-eye lines can become more noticeable.
We also talked about the under-eye area, which is more of a skin quality issue than a muscle issue. That’s why she’d be an excellent candidate for treatment with polynucleotides.
You’ll notice I’ve only covered my patient’s eye to protect her identity. I deliberately haven’t covered the under-eye area (I could easily do that here 😅) but I did not, because I want to show you the results honestly, not hide anything or make them look better than they are. Botulinum toxin is an excellent treatment, but it’s not the answer to every concern, and sometimes the best results come from combining treatments.

Above pictures show our first appointment on 1st April, when we used 0.65 mL of filler.
The bottom pictures show when my lovely patient returned to me (thank you! ❤️) on 1st July, 3 months later, after her lips had completely healed. At this appointment, we added another 0.65 mL.
I would never inject 1.3 mL into lips in a single session. Building lips gradually is a completely different approach, allowing us to create beautiful, balanced results while respecting the natural anatomy. Some lip shapes actually require even more sessions to achieve the desired outcome.

Beautiful lips are built over time, not in a day. 💋

“When will I see the results?
Another 1min boring “lecture” form your dr Nina 🤪 * “Aren’t you embarrassed to post these videos?” 😅
Oh, 100% Absolutely! 😂
Every time I hit “Post,” I immediately wonder why on earth I did that… then I avoid checking the views, comments, and updates for a while. 😬 🫣

We chose to go with 0.65 mL for a refined enhancement - adding gentle volume, improved definition, and hydrated-looking lips without looking overdone.✨💋

I’ve heard people say that polynucleotide treatments are very painful that they sting or burn, and that some patients can’t tolerate them.
Honestly, that hasn’t been my experience. ( When I had treatment myself) but also I haven’t had a single patient complain that the treatment was too painful 💪😅 We all have different pain thresholds and everyone’s skin responds differently, so there’s never one experience that’s the same for everyone.
I also believe that the little things make a big difference. I use individual single-use ice packs after treatment to help soothe the skin and reduce inflammation. Not every clinic has access to a freezer or ice on demand, so I make sure these are always available for my patients. After treatment, I also apply arnica cream to help minimise bruising and swelling.
These extras do add to the cost and preparation time, especially for a small clinic, but I never compromise when it comes to your comfort or achieving the best possible results.
If you’ve been thinking about trying polynucleotides, now is a lovely time. They’re an excellent treatment for improving skin quality, particularly around the delicate under-eye area, helping to brighten the skin, soften the appearance of fine lines and leave you looking fresher and more rejuvenated.
Sometimes it’s the small details that make the biggest difference to your treatment experience. ✨💖

The pink dots (2d picture) show where I added a tiny top-up 💉✨
This is a great example of how a muscle responds to Botox for the very first time. At the first treatment, some movement and fine lines can still persist because the muscle has been working in the same way for years.
With repeated treatments, the muscle becomes less active and the skin has more opportunity to smooth out, meaning the lines often become less noticeable and results can be even more effective. In many cases, future treatments don’t even require any top-up 🤍

💋 Your day-one lips are not your final lips. 🙌
One thing I’ve noticed is that patients are perfectly happy to come back every few months for anti-wrinkle treatments or to have a course of skin boosters. (All of which is actually more expensive as well 🫣). But when it comes to lip filler, there’s often an expectation that one appointment should achieve the final result.
The reality is that lips don’t always work like that.
What many people don’t realise is that the lips you see immediately after treatment are swollen. A lot of the volume you’re seeing straight after your appointment isn’t just filler – it’s swelling too.
This is why so many patients look in the mirror and think, “Yes, that’s exactly what I wanted.”
Then a couple of weeks later, the swelling settles, the lips heal and they’re surprised that their lips don’t look quite as big as they did on day one.
This is usually the point where patients either worry that the filler has “gone”, or they think they shouldn’t need another appointment. For some reason, many people see lip filler differently to other aesthetic treatments and expect everything to be achieved in a single session.
The truth is that some patients are happy after one treatment, while others decide they’d like a little more volume, definition or shape once everything has settled.
And that’s completely normal.
Not every set of lips is best treated in one appointment. Sometimes the nicest results come from taking our time, letting the lips heal properly, and then deciding together whether any more filler is needed.

A beautiful result following a first-time toxin treatment. Three areas treated, with no top-up or correction needed 🤍
