At the beginning of this week, I walked into a flooded shop.
Not exactly what any business owner wants to see.😭😭😭😭
But one thing I’ve learned over the years is that challenges are part of the journey. You can let them stop you, or you can keep moving forward.
The repairs will be done, the doors are open, and it’s business as usual.
Building a business isn’t always smooth sailing, but resilience, determination and showing up no matter what will always win.
This is just a small bump in the road, not the destination.
The only way is up, and I’m more focused than ever on the future we’re creating here.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Good news the shop will be open from Thursday onwards, it is safe to work in which am so glad to hear. There will be work getting done during the next few months so might be some days closed for when work is getting carried out in the shop, please bare with me through the next couple of weeks if it disturbs anyones appointment I will be working out of the shop hours to manage everyone’s appointments, I am just delighted that I don’t need to close the doors.
the shop looks a bit worse off right now but once am on my feet again and sorted out what needs to be sorted it will be looking fresh and new 🤩 thank you for everyone’s messages and offers for me to work in their shops. It has been such an overwhelming and stressful few days and I haven’t managed to message a few people back,but forever grateful of the support I have received 🥰

💔 Important Update 💔
Unfortunately, due to severe flooding at the barber I am currently unable to work from my usual premises. As you can imagine, this has come as a huge shock, and I’m still assessing the damage and arranging insurance support.
In the meantime, I am desperately trying to find a temporary space where I can continue working and looking after my lovely clients. If anyone knows of a barber or suitable space that may be available, please send me a message.
To all of my wonderful clients, thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and support during this difficult time. The shop will be closed and I will get in contact with every single client that’s booked in for this week coming, I truly appreciate every single one of you and hope you’ll continue to support me whilst I get back on my feet.
I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as I know more.
Just a little reminder that Abi will be heading off on holiday from the end of the day on 4th June until 6th June. ☀️
Abi would like to say a huge thank you to all of her clients for your continued support. She genuinely loves being your barber, having a chat, and helping you leave the shop feeling your best.
If you’re due a trim or fresh cut, make sure to get booked in for when she’s back, as appointments are filling up quickly.

Mum mode” and “business mode” actually aren’t as different as people think.
Running a barber shop isn’t just haircuts and appointments.
It’s listening.
Being patient.
Being understanding.
Making people feel comfortable.
Treating people fairly and with kindness.
The same qualities I use as a mum are the same qualities I bring into the shop every day.
Because behind every appointment is a person who wants to feel heard, welcomed and looked after not just handed a haircut.
People always think business means being tough, serious or switched on 24/7…
