It’s okay not to be okay, but please don’t face it alone.

I don’t often speak about personal matters a lot on my public pages but as it’s Su***de Prevention Month, I wanted to make a post that will hopefully help anyone who may need it to feel less alone and give them hope. Believe me when I say Iv’e been there, more than once, when I couldn’t see what was ahead of me at my lowest and the feeling of being alone or feeling like no one will understand.

This is proof that it will get better. I know how hard it is to see it when you’re going through it but I promise you that you will get through it and there are brighter days ahead.

I’m not going to lie for the sake of social media and say it’s all been glitter and rainbows for me - Iv’e still had ups and downs in the past few years, we cannot predict what life or our mental health is going to do next. But if you are still here and reading this then you have already made it through all of your bad days so far, showing how strong you really are. You CAN do it. You are NOT alone and your story is NOT over yet.

This post is a reminder that you have so much ahead of you. A reminder to check in on your friends and loved ones, a simple “how are you really?” could make all the difference. A reminder to invite people even if you think they’ll say no because sometimes just knowing someone is thinking of you can help. A reminder to be kind because you never know what someone is going through. A reminder that listening without judgment or providing a safe environment could save a life. A reminder that suicice prevention is not just a month but it matters every single day. A reminder that kindness costs nothing but it might mean everything to someone fighting a quiet battle. A reminder that help IS available (Iv’e listed some contacts on the last slide) and just in case it does help anyone, my DM’s are always open and a safe space. A reminder that reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Let’s build a culture together where reaching out is the norm and celebrated. ❤️‍🩹

The kids are back to school and got their lobes pierced in the school holidays, that means they’ll be all healed by now right? WRONG!

Just because they got pierced over the summer does not mean that their piercings are now healed enough to take them out for P.E. or swimming. No they are not healed enough to change the jewellery either, no matter how much they beg to change them. And I hate to break it to you but no, using that “fast healing solution” that places that pierce with guns often offer you is not going to do what it says on the bottle 🙈

Our bodies need TIME to heal and patience and research is key 🔑 Please do not fall for this myth, plan ahead and follow your professional piercers aftercare
