One of the parts of aesthetics I genuinely love is that you never really stop learning. New techniques, different approaches, anatomy, assessment and lots of conversations with other practitioners, all of it comes back into how I treat my own patients.

A day out of clinic, investing in our network and education. Always coming back to Aberdeen with fresh ideas and evolving practices.

You don’t need to know what treatment you need before you book a consultation.

In fact, I’d rather you didn’t.

Tell me what you’ve noticed. What’s changed. What bothers you in certain light, in photographs, or when you catch your reflection.

And please don’t feel embarrassed or anxious about showing me. I want you to look forward to coming into clinic, not worry about it.

We’ll break everything down, work out what’s actually going on and build a plan together, at your pace, with no pressure to have treatment.

Sometimes that means treating. Sometimes it means better skincare. Sometimes it means doing less than you thought.

Over the years in practice, one thing I’ve learnt is that the best results are rarely about changing how someone looks. They’re about helping them become the best version of themselves.

A few days in London with and . 🤍

A day of education, innovation and conversations with some incredibly talented practitioners. There’s something special about being surrounded by people who are passionate about raising standards and sharing knowledge.

Running a clinic can be all consuming, so it was equally important ( and difficult!) to make time to switch off too exploring London, sharing a few laughs, and even getting a trip to ✨

I came home with fresh ideas, renewed inspiration and a reminder that investing in yourself isn’t just about education, it’s about the people you meet and the memories you make along the way.

Pigmentation?

These images were taken two weeks apart following one treatment session and shared with full client consent.

Not all pigmentation sits at the same depth within the skin, which is why precision matters. For this treatment, I used very superficial microneedling with to create controlled microchannels and improve uptake of the exosome serum whilst minimising unnecessary inflammation.

Depth control is incredibly important when treating pigment safely, overly aggressive treatment can worsen post-inflammatory pigmentation rather than improve it.

SPF and aftercare also play a huge role in results, especially in the first few weeks following treatment.

Early improvement already visible in overall tone and clarity after one session.

Microneedling FAQ ⬇️

“What actually determines microneedling results?”

Precision.

Microneedling works by creating controlled microchannels within the skin, stimulating a wound-healing response and collagen remodelling over time. Treatment outcomes are influenced not simply by “needling”, but by the quality of the device, needle consistency, treatment depth, practitioner technique and the products delivered into the skin.

At Aesthete Associates, treatments are performed using the 1need Pro system, a professional microneedling device designed for controlled depth precision, treatment consistency and clinical safety standards.

“What is being applied into the skin during treatment?”

This matters significantly.

Immediately following microneedling, the skin barrier becomes temporarily more permeable. Products selected during treatment should therefore be sterile, evidence-led and specifically chosen for transdermal application and skin compatibility.

Not every serum is suitable for professional microneedling protocols.

“Why is aftercare important?”

Following treatment, the skin enters a highly active repair phase. Excessive heat, intense exercise, active skincare ingredients, UV exposure and inappropriate products can disrupt healing pathways, increase inflammation and compromise skin integrity.

Good microneedling should support regeneration in a controlled and intentional way — not create unnecessary trauma.

“How many sessions are recommended?”

Collagen remodelling occurs gradually over time. Most patients require a tailored course of treatments depending on skin quality, inflammation, scarring, pigmentation and individual treatment goals.

Assessment-led care will always outperform aggressive, standardised treatment approaches.
