Remember this client hair strand from a few weeks ago?

She’s the one whose strand test literally fell apart.

From the outside, her hair looked healthy. But the strand test told a completely different story. Years of over-bleaching had left her hair too compromised to safely lighten again.

This is exactly why we insist on strand testing.

After the test, we contacted her before her appointment to explain that we couldn’t safely carry out the blonde service she originally wanted. Hair integrity will always come before colour.

Today, Fran sat down with her for a really honest consultation. We talked through every option. We could have done a toner, a root melt or a braided balayage—but adding more bleach simply wasn’t an option.

Together, we decided on a braided balayage.

By weaving depth back through the blonde, we’ve broken up the solid blonde, created beautiful dimension and made her hair look healthier, shinier and much more expensive. Sometimes adding darker pieces actually makes the blonde stand out even more.

She’s also gone home with a personalised homecare routine because this is now a hair health journey. The goal is to rebuild the condition so that, in the future, we may be able to add a brighter money piece and continue her blonde journey safely.

The best bit?

By the end of the appointment she said, “I actually love this colour… I might just keep it like this!” 🤍

This lovely lady is a new client who has been coming to us every week for her blow-dries. During those appointments, we chatted about her colour and what she really wanted to achieve.

Her previous hairdresser had been adding random highlights, leaving her with uneven colour and no real plan. Together, we created one.

Today marks the start of her grey-blending journey. 🤍

Rather than chasing every grey with full coverage, we’re using carefully placed highlights to soften the contrast, brighten her overall look and create a colour that will grow out beautifully with less obvious regrowth.
