Little pinch me moment.

I honestly feel like I’ve fulfilled a dream.

The last few weeks have been absolutely amazing for me and for Chop & Change, and to be featured in two trade magazines and win the national Best Colour Salon in such a short space of time is honestly the best feeling in the world.

Seeing myself and Chop & Change featured in Creative HEAD Magazine is something I am so proud of.

This feature is all about how creating content has become part of our everyday life in the salon. For us, it is not just about showing beautiful hair. It is about sharing the consultation, the journey, the decisions, the challenges, the transformations and the confidence that comes with it.

Social media has helped clients find us from Addlestone, Surrey and even further afield, and it has played such a big part in growing the salon from where we were after Covid to where we are today.

From our little salon in Addlestone to being featured in Creative HEAD. What a moment.

This lovely lady comes in every four weeks, and I cannot tell you how quickly her hair grows.

Sometimes I feel like we have to cut it every single time she is in. Her hair is so thick, so healthy and absolutely gorgeous.

And just look at that shine. This metallic rose copper is honestly stunning. Soft, glossy, rich and full of warmth.

We absolutely love her hair, and I think you’ll agree, it looks beautiful.

From faded copper to full-on autumn glow 🍂

This transformation is giving rich, glossy, fiery copper with so much shine. We took her colour from faded and grown out to this beautiful deep root melt with vibrant copper through the lengths and ends.

The darker root keeps it soft and wearable, while those bright copper ends give all the drama. And just look at that shine.

Another mum and daughter salon day, and we absolutely love these moments.

These two come in together, spend time in the salon together, and today Fran created this gorgeous root melt, bringing her natural colour back in while adding this beautiful cherry cola red through the lengths and ends.

It is rich, shiny, soft and perfect for going back to college with a fresh new look.

lovely lady is a teacher and started coming to us at the beginning of the year after having an awful experience at a local hairdressers.

She now comes in with her mum, and they spend the afternoon with us together, which is always so lovely to see. There is something really special about a mum and daughter having that time, sitting together, chatting and enjoying their hair appointments.

Last time, we went a little bit lighter. Today, I decided I wanted to help blend in her natural greys, so we added highlights all over to give her a softer, multi-dimensional look.

I think you’ll agree, it looks absolutely gorgeous. Natural, blended, shiny and full of dimension.

This young lady has just had a baby, although he is almost one now. Where does that time go?

Julie has actually known her since she was at school, and this year she turned 30. It really is one of those “how has that happened?” moments.

And who doesn’t love a beautiful balayage root melt? Darker roots to keep it soft and natural, with the brightest red through the ends to give that gorgeous pop of colour and shine.

A stunning red with depth, brightness and a beautiful low-maintenance blend.

This lady has been coming to us since January, and her hair now is not the hair she first walked in with.

Back in January, her hair was super long, but it was thin, wispy and really badly damaged. She had a dream colour in mind, but her hair just was not strong enough for us to safely do it at the time. So instead of pushing it too far, we made a plan.

Over the last nine months, we have been looking after her hair, building up her home care and keeping it fresh with toners. Last time, we were finally able to add a few highlights through the top to give her that little bit of brightness she wanted.

Today was all about a toner, adding more protein back into the hair and helping her feel like her hair is finally growing, looking better and feeling so much stronger.

We love being part of our clients’ hair journeys and helping them get to the hair they want in the right way.

This lovely client has only been coming to us since April, and what a journey her hair has been on already.

When she first came into the salon, her hair was bright red after a colour disaster at a local salon. Over the last six months, we have been slowly working with her colour, getting it softer, healthier and much more like the look she wanted.

Her and her daughter now come to the salon together, just like they have done for years. Going to the hairdressers has always been part of their routine, and it is so lovely to see them sat together, chatting away and enjoying that special mum-and-daughter time. We always make sure they are next to each other so they can enjoy those moments properly.

Today, she now has the perfect haircut and the colour we have been working towards. Soft, natural, blended and so much more her.

Braided balayage glow-up ✨

This lovely client was recommended to us by one of our long-term regular clients. She had also kept seeing us on Facebook, seeing our awards and our work, and decided we were the hairdressers she wanted to come to.

She has been blonde for a long time but wanted to start going a little darker, so this was the first step towards adding her natural colour back in while still keeping her feeling bright. No harsh lines, just a soft, blended, low-maintenance finish.

That is why we love a braided balayage. It gives dimension, softness and a beautiful grow-out while keeping the hair looking healthy and shiny.
