❌ “It must be so painful!”

This is the question I get asked the most! We don’t numb before treatment, due to the treatment being very quick and we don’t work too deep into the skin. clients describe this as “more comfortable than i thought.”

❌ “Your skin bleeds loads and you can’t leave the house for days.”

Not true. Most clients have little to no bleeding and leave looking like they’ve got mild sunburn. The redness usually settles within 24 hours.

❌ “Your skin will have scabbing afterwards.”

Nope! You may experience a little dryness or light flaking, but heavy scabbing isn’t a normal result of a professionally performed treatment.

In clinic, we usually needle to a depth of 1–1.5 mm because that’s the layer where collagen production is stimulated. Going deeper isn’t better and is only necessary for specific concerns, such as certain types of scarring.

❓Will it hurt?

Short answer… No.

I use numbing cream and a really light hand pressure throughout the treatment, so most clients are surprised by how comfortable it is.

In fact, around 60% of my clients actually fall asleep! 😴

The treatment is so relaxing that many people chat for a while, then drift off and sleep through the rest of their appointment. Once the numbing wears off, your lips may feel a little tender, but nothing too uncomfortable.

❓Will my lips bleed?

No.

Your lips shouldn’t bleed during treatment.

The only time this may happen is if you’ve gone against the pre-treatment advice I’ve given you. Following your pre-care instructions helps me achieve the best healed results and ensures your appointment runs smoothly.

Yes, a little.

Some swelling is completely normal, but it usually settles within a few hours.

Occasionally, a small amount of swelling can last until the following day, but most clients actually love the fuller look while it lasts! 💋
