While it might be easy to indulge at Christmas, it is still important to be mindful of what goes into our mouths. You can make little changes like increasing the amount of veg on your place and making sure that meat that you do buy comes from local butches or greengrocers rather than the supermarket. When buying meat, try and ensure the foods are coming from sources who have good animal welfare standards.

Try and do all your shopping in one go rather than lots of little trips, and ideally buy local or nationally-produced seasonal items that haven’t clocked up air miles travelling from far-flung countries.

Reduce the mileage your gifts travel by buying locally (while also supporting local businesses) - think Christmas Markets, vouchers for farm shops, local breweries, or how about a therapy/massage treatment.
