Green is one of the most misunderstood fragrance families.

For some, it evokes freshly cut grass and crushed leaves. For others, it’s a creamy fig tree basking in Mediterranean sunshine, a damp forest after rainfall, a steaming cup of jasmine tea, or dense tropical foliage deep within a rainforest.

The reality is that “green” isn’t a single scent profile. It’s a spectrum of textures, landscapes and emotions.
Understanding the different faces of green is often the difference between thinking green fragrances aren’t for you and discovering an entire category you never realised you loved.

Which shade of green do you naturally gravitate towards? 🌿

Let’s talk green fragrances… but from a slightly different angle 🌿✨

Not all green scents smell like freshly cut grass or spring mornings. Some are airy and bright, others are creamy, aromatic, coastal, herbal, floral, tea-like or softly woody. What they share is a feeling: natural, effortless and quietly refreshing.

These are the kinds of fragrances that bring a touch of the outdoors into everyday life. Some feel breezy and sunlit, some cool and shaded, some vibrant and energetic. Even if you don’t usually gravitate towards green fragrances, these are the scents that might change your mind.

If you haven’t guessed by now, I am on a mission to showcase how exceptional and varied the green scent profile can be and to make the point that unless you have tried to explore every single version of green (that would take you a very long time), then you can’t say ‘I am not a green fragrance person’

Here are some of the newest additions to my collection:

🌱 Godet Parfums - Un Jour à Paris
🌱 Atelier des Ors - Blue Madeleine
🌱 Free Yourself - Air

11 green fragrances to try this summer, especially if you’ve never quite connected with green scents 🌿

Green fragrances are often misunderstood. They’re not just earthy, mossy or reminiscent of freshly cut grass. The category stretches far beyond that, encompassing everything from sparkling citrus groves and aromatic herbs to sun-warmed fig leaves, coastal vegetation, delicate florals and cool aquatic landscapes.

What makes green perfumery so compelling is its diversity. Some compositions feel crisp and invigorating, others soft and luminous. Some evoke Mediterranean summers, others capture the feeling of walking through a botanical garden after rainfall. Once you move beyond the traditional idea of “green”, it becomes one of the most rewarding fragrance families to explore.

If you’re looking for a place to start, these are 11 fragrances worth experiencing this summer:
🌱 Les Bains Guerbois — 1979 New Wave
🌱 Room 1015 — Wasabi Klub
🌱 Noise — Siren Song
🌱 Parfum d’Empire — Acqua di Scandola
🌱 Floris — Limes
🌱 Etat Libre d’Orange — You or Someone Like You
🌱 Anomalia Paris — Aquatic Ozonic
🌱 Gucci — Fiori di Neroli
🌱 DS&Durga — Golfjazz
🌱 The Different Company — Osmanthus
🌱 Acqua di Parma — Mirto di Panarea

Which one are you reaching for first this summer? 🌱

Diptyque Philosykos will forever be one of the most special fragrances to me…

Why? Well of course it is a fig fragrance, and an exceptional one at that, with green, woody nuances that also flirt with both the fruity and earthy side of perfumery, but actually, this scent is one of my first memories of perfume as a child.

Philosykos is the first perfume I really remember smelling because it’s my mother’s signature scent. Every time I smell it, regardless of who it is on or where I am, it brings me to her.

I asked her once why this particular perfume, why do you always come back to it and she said that it made her feel connected, not to anything in particular, maybe just to herself but a sense of soul deep connection whenever she wore it. So now for me, it also has a significant form of connection, except for me, it’s to her.

I take Philosykos to therapy with me as part of my “safe space” in this stage of what’s called “relive and rescript”. Whenever the situation gets too overwhelming or too troubling I recenter with Philosykos.

This is probably a huge over share but I’m seeing it as a strong example of the power of fragrance and how scent can impact us all on a much deeper level than just smelling nice 🤍

Fragrances I wore last week ✨

The second week of June felt like a week of complete immersion in perfume.
Esxence may be over, but the inspiration certainly isn’t. I spent several days in Lille with Les Eaux Primordiales, exploring Le Domaine Primordial and spending time surrounded by the people, ingredients and ideas that bring fragrances to life. Experiences like that always leave me wanting to wear more perfume, pay closer attention to composition, and rediscover bottles that might otherwise have been overlooked on my shelves.
These are the perfumes that shaped part of my week:

✨ Les Eaux Primordiales Crocus Supercritique – luminous saffron handled with remarkable restraint. Textural, modern and mesmerisingly unique.
✨ Layering: Moonkissed Rhapsody by Ode Ona + Être Toi by Sisology – delicate florals, soft peach and clean musks creating something that feels effortlessly romantic
✨ Les Bains Guerbois 1979 New Wave – crisp, energetic and undeniably cool. A scent that has long been on my wishlist and will be having its moment on my feed soon...
✨ Layering: Tom Ford Taormina Orange + You Or Someone Like You by Etat Libre d’Orange – sparkling citrus wrapped in fresh mint and greenery. Bright, uplifting and exactly what I want to wear when summer starts making an appearance.
✨ Sisology Deep Down – introspective, comforting and beautifully composed. One of those fragrances that captures so many levels of emotion
✨ Layering: Abel Cyan Nori + Abel Laundry Day – salty air meeting freshly laundered cotton. Clean fragrance done properly, with enough character to keep it interesting.
✨ Xerjoff Perseveranza – rich, expressive and unmistakably Xerjoff. A fragrance that feels larger than life without sacrificing elegance.
✨ Layering: Gris Charnel by BDK Parfums + 204 Velvet Fig by Bon Parfumeur – creamy woods, velvety fig and soft spices blending together seamlessly.

Which of these would you be most curious to try?
And perhaps more importantly, what did your week smell like? ✨
