I’ve been lucky enough to know this lovely young lady nearly her whole life. From seeing her every day at infant and junior school, to playdates in the holidays and tea after school, she’s been part of so many happy memories. Her mum is one of my favourite humans, and it’s been such a privilege to watch her grow into the incredible young lady she is today.

She is so very dear to me, and I’m sure you’ll all agree she’s absolutely stunning—not just on the outside, but on the inside too. 💛

✨ Prom Glow ✨

This beautiful prom princess visited us last week for a Sienna X spray tan ahead of her prom. 💛

Considering it was probably the hottest week we’ve had in forever, with the heatwave in full swing, we were absolutely delighted that she managed to keep cool enough for her tan to develop into a gorgeous, natural-looking glow. She looked absolutely stunning!

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing her mum for around 18 years, so it’s been so lovely to watch her grow up over the years. One of the best parts of my job is seeing the next generation come through the salon and blossom into such beautiful young ladies. It’s always a joy when they start visiting us too.

🥵 Heatwaves don’t just affect us… they affect beauty treatments too! ☀️

Many people don’t realise that as beauty therapists, we have to adapt the way we work during periods of extreme weather to achieve the very best results.

The products we use are carefully designed to perform within certain temperatures and humidity levels. When the weather changes dramatically, so can the way treatments behave!

Here’s just a few examples…
☀️ Spray Tans
Excessive sweating during the development period can affect how a tan develops. We adjust our advice, recommend wearing loose clothing and, if needed, suggest postponing or cancelling appointments if you feel worried

👁️ Lash Extensions
Lash adhesive is sensitive to temperature and humidity. We monitor our treatment room conditions, refresh our glue more frequently and adapt our techniques to achieve the strongest bond possible.

💅 Gel Polish & Builder Gel
Hot weather can soften natural nails and swollen fingers can place extra pressure on your manicure. We may recommend extra cuticle oil and aftercare to help your nails last their best.

💆 Facials
Skin can become dehydrated, congested or more sensitive in the heat. We tailor products and skincare advice to suit how your skin is behaving on the day.

💆‍♀️ Massage
We’ll make sure you’re comfortable, keep the room as cool as we can and always have chilled water available if you need it.

🌡️ Did you know your lash retention can be affected by the weather? 👀

When you have lash extensions with Lisa or Della, it’s not just our technique that matters…

The temperature and humidity in the treatment room can have a huge impact on how lash adhesive performs and, ultimately, how well your lashes last.

This week, our treatment room reached 26°C, but what surprised us most was the humidity - just 28%!

Most professional lash adhesives perform best at around 20–24°C with a humidity of 40–60%. When the air becomes too dry, the adhesive can cure more slowly, which may affect the strength of the bond and, in turn, lash retention.
We do use a quick cure adhesive bonder after your lashes have been applied which should help hugely.

This is why lash extensions aren’t an exact science. There are so many factors that can influence how long they last, including:

💜 Your natural lash cycle
💜 Hormones
💜 Medication
💜 Skincare products
💜 Swimming, holidays and saunas
💜 Aftercare at home

We’re always learning and investing in ways to give our clients the very best results. We’ve been monitoring our treatment room conditions during this heatwave and are already looking at ways to improve the environment for lash appointments.

We know it can be disappointing if your lashes don’t last quite as well as you’d hoped, but please remember that retention isn’t determined by application alone. Sometimes Mother Nature has other ideas! ☀️

🥵 Heatwave Update ☀️

Like many businesses, we’re feeling the heat too! 🌞

Although the salon is still considerably cooler than outside, it’s definitely warming up.

My treatment room reached 25°C yesterday, so whilst it’s more comfortable than being outdoors, it’s still feeling quite warm.

If you have an appointment over the next few days, we’d love to help you stay as comfortable as possible.

💜 Wear loose, cool clothing.
💜 Keep well hydrated before your appointment.
💜 Please don’t be shy about asking for a chilled bottle of water – we have plenty in the fridge ready for you!

Your comfort and wellbeing are really important to us.

If, because of the exceptional temperatures, you would prefer to postpone or cancel your appointment, we completely understand. For the next few days, we will waive our usual late cancellation charge, as we’d much rather you stayed safe and comfortable than struggled in the heat.

Please do bear in mind that this is one of our busiest times of the year. If you choose to reschedule, we may not be able to offer another appointment as quickly as you might like. If you have a wedding, holiday or special occasion coming up, this is worth considering before making your decision.

🥵 HEATWAVE WARNING FOR SPRAY TAN CLIENTS 🥵

If you’re booked in for a spray tan during this hot weather, please read this! ☀️

The biggest challenge for a spray tan isn’t usually the application… it’s the sweating that can happen whilst the tan is developing.

In very hot weather, excessive sweating can sometimes cause:
✨ Guide colour transfer
✨ Patchy areas
✨ Streaking
✨ Darker patches where perspiration has pooled
✨ Tan rubbing onto clothing and bedding

Our advice is simple:
💜 Stay cool after your appointment
💜 Avoid exercise and strenuous activity
💜 Skip the housework and gardening and definitely no sunbathing
💜 Wear loose, dark clothing
💜 Sleep in loose clothing and use a fan if possible
💜 Avoid touching your skin unnecessarily
💜 Drink plenty of water

Most importantly, don’t panic if you do sweat a little. We often find that once the tan has been washed off and settled for 24 hours, many areas look much more even than they did during development.

This is exactly why we recommend having your spray tan around 48 hours before a wedding, holiday or special occasion where possible ✨

The hotter the weather, the more important your aftercare becomes.

We can create a beautiful tan in the salon, but what happens afterwards plays a huge part in the final result 💜

At Team Tutti we are highly trained, experienced and genuinely care about every client who walks through our door. We carry out thousands of treatments every year and always strive for the very best results. However, beauty treatments are not one-size-fits-all.

✨ Spray Tanning Isn’t Quite As Simple As People Think… ✨

One of the biggest misconceptions about spray tanning is that every tan will develop perfectly evenly on every single person. The reality is there are SO many factors that affect how a spray tan develops on the skin — even when applied professionally.

We carry out a huge number of spray tans in the salon and have many years of experience working with Sienna X. We are fully trained professionals and pride ourselves on achieving beautiful results for our clients, which is reflected in the lovely feedback and reviews we receive 💜

However, spray tanning is still a cosmetic treatment that develops differently on every individual skin type.

Things that can affect the final result include:

✨ Dry skin
✨ Build-up of fake tan or products on the skin
✨ Hormones and medication
✨ Shaving and exfoliation routines
✨ Naturally drier areas like hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles and feet
✨ Sweating during development
✨ Tight clothing rubbing the skin
✨ How long the tan is left on for
✨ Touching the skin during development causing guide colour transfer
✨ Different skin tones and undertones

We take lots of steps in the salon to help achieve the most even result possible:

💜 Full tanning consultation
💜 Advising on correct prep beforehand
💜 Barrier cream applied to dry areas
