Not everything on your shelf is reducing your wrinkles. And that's OK.

A ‘no’ doesn't mean it's a bad product.

Hyaluronic acid is brilliant for hydration. It just won't reduce wrinkles.

SPF won't erase the lines you already have, but it helps stop new ones forming.

It also protects the work your retinol and vitamin C are doing, because the sun’s UV rays undo it.

You don't need more products.

You need the right ones, and to know what each one is there to do.

Every one of those moments came from a woman I’ve worked with.

And what I’ve learned is that it’s rarely just about the skin. It’s about how you feel in it.

The starting point isn’t another product. It’s understanding what your skin actually needs.

You clean your skin but what about everything that touches it? 👀

If makeup brushes aren’t cleaned regularly, they can contribute to breakouts, irritation and even infection.

🖌 Wash weekly and allow to dry completely. Between washes, spray after every use with a hypochlorous acid product suitable for sanitising brushes, following its instructions.

And don’t forget your gua sha, jade rollers, dermarollers and LED masks. They need cleaning too, so follow each tool’s care instructions.

Save this as your reminder. Looking after your skin includes looking after your tools and devices.

Perfume can contribute to a condition called poikiloderma, which causes brown patches and redness on the neck.

It develops gradually, with years of sun exposure playing a big part. Ingredients in certain perfumes can make skin more sensitive to sunlight and contribute to these changes.

Not every perfume causes this, but keeping fragrance off your neck can help reduce the risk of these marks developing.

And don’t forget sunscreen on your neck and chest.

Your hands deserve the same care as your face.

Dryness can make them look older than they are, but a little daily care can help keep them looking smoother, softer and hydrated.

I’ve put together a free hand care guide with practical steps and recommended products, so you know what to use.

Those lines on your chest… The biggest culprit is how you sleep.

Save this checklist:

✓ Sleep on your back, or hug a pillow between your arms
✓ Take your moisturiser, retinol and sunscreen down past your collarbone

Important note: chest skin is thinner than your face, so start retinol two or three nights a week and build up slowly. Avoid it if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Patchy concealer by midday? It’s usually not your concealer. It’s the skin underneath.

Save this checklist:

✓ Ceramide-rich eye cream, morning and night
✓ Face retinol below your orbital rim, never closer
✓ A hydrating concealer, and less of it. Tap, don’t rub.

One more thing: if you can see the lines even without makeup, that’s your skin asking for more hydration, not more concealer.

Save this for your next skincare shop.

Before choosing peptides—or any anti-ageing active—you need to understand what your skin needs now and where it is right now.

The skin type you had two years ago may not reflect your skin today.

Hormones, lifestyle, environment and age can all change how your skin behaves.

Knowing your current skin type helps you choose products that are genuinely right for it.
