Permanent tattoos can take up to several years to break down and disappear; this is due to the pigment being designed, well, to be permanent. This can make visible changes slow, especially when you compare it to those with semi-permanent work.

This client may not require any further laser sessions. Her semi-permanent brows have already naturally broken down to an incredibly light colour.

She wanted a laser session to help the rest of the pigment fade. Due to the frosting of the pigmentation, the brow looks more defined than before the session. This is only an immediate after-effect, and it will fade within a couple of hours. 😊

This client has now been recommended for glycolic removal, as we are unable to lift the yellow pigment any further at this time with the laser due to the anti-absorption properties of the pigment.

After glycolic, she may require another laser session to help lift the remains of colour, but that will be decided based on the healing of her brows.

Pigment can be placed at different levels in the dermis, which can make it a longer process to remove. In this case, the pigmentation at the front of the brows has been placed deep and still remains despite the rest of the brow having fully lightened.

This is an example of why you should always start your removal sooner than you think, especially if you have an event that you would like your brows to be redone for. It can take up to 6 weeks to a year or even more for your brows to get to the required level that allows technicians to offer new treatment.
