Barrier repair is a biological process that requires time, consistency and the correct support.
When the skin barrier has been compromised, whether through inflammation, over exfoliation, environmental stress, or incorrect product use, the skin’s ability to protect itself and regulate moisture becomes impaired.
Corneotherapy focuses on restoring barrier function by supporting the stratum corneum, calming inflammation and allowing the skin’s natural renewal cycle to take place without disruption.
Rather than forcing change through aggressive treatments this approach
works with the skin’s physiology, creating an environment where repair can occur gradually and sustainably.
Understanding this timeline is essential for achieving long term skin health rather than
short term results.
And this is something I remind my clients - and myself, regularly. Especially right now, as my own skin is going through its own repair journey post-surgery.
There are no shortcuts when it comes to genuine skin health. But when you give your skin the right environment, the right support and a little patience, the results are lasting rather than just fleeting. That’s always worth waiting for. ❤️

I need to stop trying to solely fix my skin from the outside when what actually needs fixing is on the inside.
I’ll be honest with you — this week I’ve been feeling a little wired. High energy but overwrought, that particular post-surgical, mid-menopause cocktail of wanting to race ahead and fix everything at once.
And it’s showing on my skin. Flushing. A little reactive. Doing exactly what skin does when your nervous system is running hot.
So, here is what I know - and I do keep having to remind myself - you cannot outrun your internal landscape topically. No serum, no facial, no treatment is going to fix skin that is responding to hormonal chaos or a nervous system that desperately needs a rest.
But here’s what can help while you’re doing the deeper work.
Certain facials - when done properly and with soothing intention - actively calm the nervous system. The parasympathetic response that kicks in during a treatment that feels truly safe and nurturing isn’t just relaxation. It’s your body physically downregulating stress hormones. Less cortisol means less inflammation. Less inflammation means calmer, clearer skin.
And the right skincare - I use and prescribe Prologic, rooted in Corneotherapy - works with your barrier rather than against it. Supporting your skin while your body heals, rather than demanding results that it just isn’t ready to give yet.
So, this week I’m focusing inward first. Slowing down. Letting my body heal properly. And being patient - which if you know me, is not my strongest suit. 😅
If you’re chasing results on the surface while life is throwing everything at you underneath - I see you, I really do. Your skin will follow when your body feels safe enough to let it.
More on this as my own journey continues. ❤️

Your skin talks to you. Tightness after cleansing, redness that won’t settle, acne that won’t clear, dryness that no moisturiser seems to fix - these aren’t random. They’re your barrier asking for help. ❤️
The skin barrier is everything. It’s what keeps the good stuff in and the bad stuff out. When it’s compromised, nothing else you put on your skin can work properly - no matter how expensive it is.
This is where I start with my clients, and right now, it’s exactly where I’m starting with my own skin too - post surgery, post menopause onset, learning all over again.
Save this post - it’s the kind of thing worth coming back to. If any of these signs sound familiar, drop a💧 in the comments. I’d love to point you in the right direction.

Let me be really honest with you for a second ❤️
Skin is what I do, self-care is what I believe in and right now I’m living both more honestly than ever! But right now, after major surgery in January and finding myself suddenly in surgical menopause, my skin is doing things I wasn’t expecting. At least I thought wouldn’t happen to me!
The pigmentation I collected in my 20’s living in Portugal - all those glorious sun-drenched years without a drop of spf - is making itself very much known. Timing, hey? 🤦🏼♀️ 😅
I could pretend I’m fine. But honestly, I think there’s something more valuable I can offer you than perfect skin and polished advice from a distance.
I’m going to take you with me. My skin, my products, my Prologic protocol, the good weeks and the frustrating ones. Real and honest all the way.
If your skin is changing - hormones, stress, age, life - and you’re not sure where to start, save this and follow along. I’d love the company. 💙
Based in Cuddington, Buckinghamshire - my little garden salon is always open for you. Worth the drive from Long Crendon, Chearsley, Haddenham, Thame, Aylesbury and beyond, I promise! 🌸

Corneotherapist ❤️
When you book a skin consultation with a Corneotherapist, you can expect much more than a surface level assessment of your skin. The focus is on understanding why your skin is behaving the way it is, not just what it looks like.
I take the time to explore your skin history, medical background, current skincare routine and any treatments you’ve had in the past.
Along with also looking at lifestyle factors such as stress, sleep, diet and daily habits that can impact your skin.
By connecting all the pieces I am able to identify the root cause of your concerns and treat the skin holistically, supporting it from the inside out. Every recommendation is personalised with the goal of restoring balance, strengthening the skin barrier and creating long term, sustainable skin health
rather than short term results.
Ultimately, I am a consumer too and I know more now than ever how if you’re a little out of balance for whatever reason that your skin can show it. If you just don’t know where to start…that’s where I begin! 🌸
As the seasons shift, your skin often does too ❤️
More sensitivity, dryness or just not feeling quite right.
Work with your skin, it’s something to understand and support with love. 🌸

There is most definitely a natural shift happening at this time of year - you can feel it in the air, and often in the skin too. ❤️
Are you finding your skin has become a little more reactive, a little unsettled or not just behaving as it usually does as the seasons change?
I find that approaching your skin in a way that supports it, working with it and not trying to push it is key.
‘Flor’ - meaning flower - has always felt like a small reminder that everything has its own rhythm, and that includes our skin.
I have a few appointments available this week, if you’re feeling a little out of balance and could do with prioritising yourself, even for just a few minutes of self care, pop yourself a spot in the diary. 🌸

Barrier repair isn’t overnight it’s something that is built over time ❤️
With the right support, patience and consistency, skin can begin to function more normally again.

I don’t know about you, but for me the start of a new week often feels like a good time to get things back on track — especially after a busy or disrupted routine ❤️
I, like you, find that my skin can often reflect that too… feeling a little tired, unsettled, or just not quite itself after everything life throws at us.
This is where I begin in my lovely, warm and welcoming little garden sanctuary too — bringing things back to balance, gently focusing on what the skin actually needs rather than overloading it.
I have a few appointments available this week for facial and waxing treatments. If you’d like to book in, you are welcome to do so via my website ❤️

Skin health definitely isn’t about a quick fix or a shortcut.
The reason I chose to work with Prologic is because it is a corneotherapeutic skincare range that focuses on barrier-first formulations and long term skin health.
The power of truly understanding how the skin functions whilst protecting the barrier using the right ingredients.
