A Service will be held in St. John’s Parish Church, Doagh Road, Ballyclare on Tuesday 11th November at 12.00 noon, followed by committal in Antrim & Newtownabbey Crematorium.

🚫 Ringworm: What You Need to Know Before Your Next Haircut 🧼✂️

Ringworm (also known as tinea capitis when it affects the scalp) is a common fungal infection — and no, it’s not caused by an actual worm! It's highly contagious and can easily spread through clippers, brushes, and direct contact.

👀 What Does It Look Like?
Look out for:

Round, scaly patches of hair loss

Itchy, red, or inflamed skin on the scalp

Flaky or crusty areas

Sometimes, black dots where hairs have broken off

⏱️ How Long Should You Wait Before a Haircut?
If you suspect or know you have ringworm:

Do not book a haircut until you've started treatment

Wait at least 2 weeks into antifungal treatment before visiting the barber

Always follow your GP or pharmacist’s advice

🧴 In the meantime, use prescribed creams or shampoos and avoid sharing combs, towels, or hats.

✂️ Our top priority is keeping all clients safe, so if you think you might have ringworm, please let us know and rebook once it's been treated properly.
