I often hear the question, "Do I need a firm, intense massage?"

Not always.

The pressure isn't the most important determinant of effectiveness. Firmer doesn't necessarily mean better.

Sometimes muscles need more than just "hard kneading," but:
• gentle relaxation
• stretching
• restoring mobility
• reducing tension without pain
