Well we are back in education mode today and tomorrow for our second two-day Hairdreams workshop, this time focusing on wefts, tapes and taking our knowledge of Hairdreams even further.

But before we share what we’re learning next, we wanted to show you what we’re already creating in the salon.

This is one of Lucy’s weaves, from the original installation that shows a seven week growth, to a fresh new install.

For us, partnering with Hairdreams isn’t just about adding new services. It’s about building on the skills we already have, developing our team and continuing to raise the standard of what we can offer our clients.

We’re really looking forward to continuing to grow and learn with this new partnership because we feel like we’re only just getting started.

THE MICROLINES SERIES | SUE’S STORY

Sometimes finding the right hair loss solution isn’t only about how your hair looks. It’s about finding something that fits into your life, rather than having to fit your life around your hair.

And that really is Sue’s story.

Hair loss has been part of her life for many years. Over that time, she’s worn clip-ins, wigs and learned what makes her feel most like herself.

After an in depth consultation Carmen set about installing Sue’s very first breathable microline system ❤️

It could give her freedom.

No planning trips home around maintenance appointments. No stretching appointments because she’s away.

Just beautiful, natural-looking hair that fits around the life she already loves living.

So whether she’s home with us or enjoying the sunshine in Spain, her hair can be looked after.

And we have a feeling there’ll be plenty more Spanish sunshine ahead. 🤍

THE MICROLINES SERIES | MARGARET’S STORY 🤍

Hair loss is something that happens quietly for so many women.

Margaret has been a client of mine for around 25 years, and during that time I’ve watched her hair gradually become finer and thinner.

As her hair changed, we changed what we did to help her, and for a number of years Margaret wore mesh integration.

But I never stopped looking for another option.

Several years ago that search led me to Hairdreams and MicroLines ❤️

Then Covid happened and it was something I put to one side, but I never really forgot about it.

Over the last six months, we’ve taken the time as a salon to really get to know Hairdreams. We’ve met with them, asked questions and researched the things that matter to us, from their ethically sourced hair and handmade systems to the training and education behind them.

Because for us, hair loss isn’t simply about adding more hair.

There’s a woman behind every hair-loss story. It can affect how you look in the mirror, how you feel in photographs, how you style your hair and ultimately, how you feel about yourself.

So it felt very special that Margaret would be one of the first women to transition to MicroLines with us.

After 25 years of looking after her hair, this is simply the next chapter in Margaret’s story. 🤍

Our beautiful client originally came to Laura with shoulder-length hair. At her last appointment, Laura took it shorter, and this time she arrived ready to take the next step.

She brought along an AI-generated image of herself with a much shorter cut, which gave them a great starting point for the consultation.

AI can be such a useful way to explore and visualise a new look before committing to it.

The image provides the inspiration, while the stylist brings the realism.

Laura took into account her natural texture, growth patterns and how the cut will work day to day, AI is amazing but it cannot factor in these elements and these all need to be considered for the overall finish ❤️

She then used the image as her starting point, adjusted the shape and detail to create a cut that suited her hair and felt completely individual to her.

A great example of AI inspiration and a stylist’s experience working together, and her smile says everything about the finished result.

Yesterday we welcomed the lovely girl behind into DKY.

She quietly captured little moments throughout the day, the team at work, the salon atmosphere and all those everyday things that make DKY what it is. She was so relaxed and unassuming that we barely noticed she was there, which made everything feel completely natural.

Carmen may be off enjoying a well-earned holiday, but we couldn’t resist sharing some of her beautiful work while she’s away.

As one of DKY’s owners and a Master Colour Directors, Carmen has a very distinct approach to colour.

She considers the client’s natural colouring, their hair and how they want to feel, then creates something individual to them.

This soft, dimensional blonde is a perfect example. Delicate ribbons of brightness, beautifully blended tones and just enough contrast to give the hair movement, softness and an effortlessly polished finish.

Very much Carmen’s style, thoughtful, individual and beautifully executed.
