Kim Alexandra Hair
Stop treating your curls like a chemistry experiment.
I know you’ve bought all the magic products, the must haves…
Most curls need:
- Water
- Hold
- Good technique
- Consistency
That’s it.
Keep it simple. Learn what your hair actually needs, not what social media convinced you to buy.
Wedding hair is never just about hair. It’s about having someone in your corner on one of the biggest mornings of your life. Someone making sure you feel calm, comfortable and completely yourself.
What means the most isn’t that she loved her hair.
It’s that 7 months later she’s still talking about how she felt. Confident, supported, looked after, like the very best version of herself.
Knowing that Maureen is still looking back on her Northern Ireland wedding with so much love, and that I played a small part in that, is such a privilege.
She also said she still brags about her hair to friends and family… I’ll happily take that.

May’s camera roll tells quite the story…
Wedding season hit with a bang, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Beautiful bridal mornings, amazing conversations with curlies, exciting plans behind the scenes, a quick trip to South Shields to see family, and a few wedding dress appointments of my own.
A month of early starts, long days, wedding planning, family time, and doing what I love.
Not a post I normally make, but this needs said.
The things I do for Alan… just a bit of fun featuring curls and bonnet. Lol.
When Hannah came to her first appointment, there were a lot of emotions and tears and I didnt even cut her hair..
She was already on a journey of learning to love herself… but she couldn’t say one nice thing about her hair. Not one.
So I gave her some homework:
Every single day, pick one curl on your head and say something kind about it.
Because negative self talk becomes so normal, we don’t even realise how cruel we’re being to ourselves anymore.
We don’t fix that overnight. We just start small. 6 months later, Hannah sent me this video and gave me permission to share it.
This is why I do what I do. Learning to embrace your curls is never just about hair.
It’s confidence.
It’s softness.
It’s unlearning years of thinking you weren’t “enough” as you are.
You never know who you could become when you finally stop fighting yourself
Controversial opinion:
You might not even need a curl cream
Just because you have curly hair…
doesn’t mean you need every curly product on the planet.
A lot of curls are overloaded with heavy products when all they really need is:
- water
- hold
- good technique
- consistency
More product doesn’t automatically mean better curls.
Can’t stop, won’t stop.
Wavies, curlies & coilies deserve better.
Better education. Better salon experiences. Better wedding hair that actually understands textured hair.
Since 2018, I’ve been helping people simplify their routines, understand their hair properly, and actually enjoy their curls instead of fighting them.
We’re only getting started.
