Firstly, Charlotte… thank you 🤎 You’ve built such a lovely salon over the last 8 years, and I’m genuinely so grateful that you’ve trusted me with the next chapter of Coco.

I honestly can’t wait to get started. I’ve got so many ideas buzzing around my head already, but one thing that’s really important to me is that Coco stays everything people already love about it. The same friendly team, the same welcoming atmosphere… just with some exciting new additions along the way.

If you’ve already got appointments booked, everything carries on as normal. You’ll still see the same familiar faces, with lots of exciting things to come over the next few months.

For those who don’t know me, I’m Millee – owner of MB The Salon and The Academy in Barnsley, and I’ve been in the industry for almost 20 years. I’m so excited to become part of the Dodworth community and can’t wait to meet every one of you.

Thank you to everyone who’s already been so kind and welcoming. I honestly can’t wait to see what we can build together.

Over the past 8 years, Coco Hair & Beauty has been so much more than just a salon to me. It has been my second home, a place where I’ve met the most incredible people, shared so many laughs, celebrated life’s milestones with so many of you, and built friendships that I’ll always treasure.

Making the decision to step away hasn’t been easy, but life has a funny way of changing your priorities. Almost three years ago, our beautiful little girl unexpectedly came into our lives, and she has completely changed my world. She has reminded me that time is the most precious gift we have, and I’ve made the decision to step back from salon ownership so I can spend these precious early years with my family.

From the 1st August, Coco Hair & Beauty will begin an exciting new chapter under new ownership.

I couldn’t be happier to be handing the salon over to someone who shares the same values of professionalism, warmth and exceptional client care. She is passionate about taking Coco forward, investing in new training, introducing exciting new services and continuing to grow everything that makes the salon so special. I truly believe the future of Coco is brighter than ever.

Most importantly, the wonderful team you know and love isn’t going anywhere. Ashleigh will continue looking after all your beauty treatments, and Shannon will still be creating beautiful hair for all of our clients. You’ll continue to see the same friendly faces, with even more exciting things to look forward to in the months ahead.

To every single client who has walked through our doors over the past 8 years—thank you. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or only recently found us, you’ve been part of Coco’s story. Your loyalty, kindness, support and friendship have meant more than you’ll ever know, and I will always be incredibly grateful.

Although I’m saying goodbye as the owner, I know Coco Hair & Beauty is in the very best hands, and I can’t wait to watch it continue to flourish.

Please join me in giving the new owner Millie the warmest welcome and supporting this exciting new chapter. I know she has so many wonderful plans, and I can’t wait for you all to see what’s to come.

Hayley is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Nurse Prescriber, bringing over 15 years of nursing experience and 10 years of aesthetics experience.

She’ll be hosting aesthetics clinic days here at Coco, offering a range of medically-led treatments including:

Her passion is creating natural, confidence-boosting results, with every treatment tailored to the individual.

You may have seen lots of posts about TPO in the news recently, and I’ve had a lot of messages about this so I wanted to share some information without any scaremongering 🤍

TPO is a photoinitiator that helps certain gel products cure under a UV/LED lamp. New regulations mean it is being phased out of professional nail products in the UK — but this does not mean that everyone who has previously worn a TPO-containing product has been harmed.

The regulation is precautionary and relates to the ingredient’s chemical classification, based largely on animal studies involving repeated oral exposure — not normal, correctly applied salon use.

Professional application still matters. Gel should never be allowed to touch the skin, products must be used with the correct lamp and every layer must be fully cured. These precautions help minimise the risk of allergies and sensitivities with all gel systems, whether they contain TPO or not.

Around 95% of the products we currently use are already TPO-free, and all future purchases will be carefully checked. Any remaining products will be managed in line with the official UK deadlines and regulations.

Please don’t panic! We are informed, prepared and committed to keeping your treatments safe and compliant 🤍
