Last year I was given an amazing opportunity to work on a project along side some extremely talented people. A feature film project that has allowed me to develop professionally as a makeup artist and encouraged me to continue with my dream of working in the film industry. Not all is as it seems!

For my major project for my degree I created 4 images based on the physiological and psychological affects of substance abuse.

Strong stereotypes have been formed around the word ‘addict’. This stereotype being someone who is gaunt and ill-looking, in old warn clothes typically passed out or roaming the streets intoxicated. This final image was created to try and break these stereotypes showing not all is as it seem when it comes to addictions. Over 65% of people who suffer from substance abuse are or began as fully able and functioning individuals in day to day life.

For my major project for my degree I created 4 images based on the physiological and psychological affects of substance abuse.
This image was inspired by the health warnings on commercial packaging typically seen on ci******es. These warning images depict the physical effects ci******es can have on the user and people around them in hopes to prevent addiction and encourage people to stop smoking. When researching about substance abuse it showed more deaths are caused by alcohol related illnesses such as Alcohol Liver Cirrhosis, this inspired me to create a health warning images for alcohol.
