10%, 15% or 20% Vitamin C… which are you recommending?
The answer? You don’t have enough information yet.
The percentage is only one part of the picture. The form of Vitamin C, pH, vehicle, supporting antioxidants, packaging and your client’s tolerability all matter when choosing the right product.
This is exactly the kind of knowledge we’ll be diving into in my new masterclass:
The Science of Skincare Part 1: A Practical Guide to Ingredients, Formulations and Confident Recommendations.
1st October at 6:30pm. Can’t make it live? The session will be recorded for you to watch back.

Retinoids can be incredibly effective, but they are not the right choice when the skin is inflamed, sore, dry or showing signs of an impaired barrier ❌
Adding more actives at this stage can worsen irritation and delay recovery. Calm the inflammation, rebuild the barrier and only introduce a retinoid when the skin is ready.

Hate the feeling of SPF? That doesn’t mean you have to skip it, you just need to find the right one for your skin.
Daily SPF is ESSENTIAL for protecting your skin from UV damage, pigmentation and premature ageing, which is why finding a formula you actually enjoy wearing makes all the difference.

I created Beyond the Breakout because I wanted to teach more than what you can find in a textbook. I want you to learn the science. I want you to learn beyond the textbook.
That’s exactly what this next masterclass is about. So many practitioners asked for a session on skincare ingredients and formulations, so I listened.
We’re going through;
🖌️The ingredients
🖌️What they actually do
🖌️How formulations can change the way they behave.
Because I don’t want you to recommend a product just because thousands of other practitioners use it in their clinic.
These masterclasses are completely practitioner led, and I’m building them around the things you actually want to learn.
Join me live on the 30th September | 6.30pm.
Don’t worry if you can’t attend, the session will be recorded and everyone who joins will receive a lifetime replay. Book your place through the link in my bio 🎫
I’m so excited for this next one 🪽
The routine that transformed someone else’s skin could be the very thing keeping yours irritated, congested or breaking out.
Your skin type, barrier health, lifestyle, hormones, medical history and current concerns all influence what your skin needs. A good routine isn’t copied from TikTok or someone with “similar skin”. Every product should have a clear purpose and be chosen specifically for you.

Sun damage can show up in many different ways, from uneven skin tone and areas of pigmentation to more stubborn patches that don’t seem to shift with your usual skincare.
During a consultation, I look at the type and pattern of pigmentation, your skin history and what may be contributing to it before deciding on the best approach.
For more persistent pigmentation, including melasma, we may also discuss prescription strength ingredients alongside your skincare routine to target those more stubborn areas.
And one of the most important parts of any pigmentation plan? Preventing further damage. Daily SPF and good sun protection are essential if we want to fade existing pigmentation and reduce the chance of it becoming darker again.
If sun damage, pigmentation or melasma is something you’d like to work on, book a Virtual Skin Strategy Session and we can put a tailored skincare plan in place for your skin.
Your skincare routine shouldn’t stay the same all year round.
Warmer weather can mean more oil, sweat and congestion, so lighter moisturisers and gel cleansers may work better.
As temperatures drop, skin can lose more moisture and your barrier may need extra support, so richer, more nourishing products can be introduced 🤍
Your skin changes with the seasons. Your routine should too!
One breakout doesn’t mean you’re back at square one.
When you’ve struggled with your skin for a long time, it’s easy to see one new breakout and immediately spiral. You question everything you’re doing, assume your skin is getting worse and feel tempted to give up on the plan altogether.
This is why I encourage my clients to zoom out.
Look at the bigger picture, identify what may have contributed to the breakout, take accountability where needed and get back on track. Skin progress isn’t always linear, and one breakout doesn’t undo weeks or months of progress.
This mindset is a huge part of how I support my acne clients through my Clear Skin Protocol.
And you don’t need to be local to work with me. I work with acne clients virtually, creating personalised plans around their skin, lifestyle and individual triggers, with ongoing support and adjustments throughout the process. We achieve incredible results without relying on in-clinic treatments.
If you’re struggling with acne and feel like you’ve tried everything, book a discovery call via the link in my bio to find out more about working together.
