What do you get?

I've recently refreshed my training with this amazing organisation and wanted to share with you what it's all about.

What is Behind the Mask?

Behind the mask is an organisation offering UK hair and beauty professionals, free training to help spot the signs of domestic abuse.
It was founded by Julie Knight, who has personal and professional insights on this topic.

Why get involved?

• 1 in 4 women (women are twice as likely as men) will experience abuse from a partner or ex-partner at some point in their life!

•2 are killed each week!

If you are a beauty or hair professional, you are often one to one with your clients, providing a unique opportunity to spot the signs of domestic abuse. By taking the course, you will have a better understanding of how to deal with this situation and what help is available.

Why should you be double cleansing?

• Its a more thorough and deeper cleanse, you'll be suprised how much makeup, spf, excess sebum and pollution are still left on the skin after a first cleanse.

• It will help reduce breakouts and impurities.

• Will help get the most out of your other products put on after. (Serums, moisturisers and eye creams etc).

• Helps work on your specific skin type (oily, dry, combination etc).

When should you be double cleansing?

•Generally in the evening, a water based cleanser am should be enough to clean the skin ready for the day.

•I always double cleanse if I have been wearing makeup.

How?

You can use the same cleanser twice however, for a deeper cleanse the idea is to use two different cleansers to work on different things.

1st cleanse: Generally an oil based cleanser or Miceller water to breakdown makeup and SPF.

2nd cleanse: A gentle cleanser more specific to your skin type to remove pollution, bacteria
and excess makeup etc.

Top tip: Use lukewarm water to wash off cleanser to avoid over drying and irritating the skin. Tone and moisturise after to balance and rehydrate the skin.
