Looking for something different, practical and confidence-building for your home-educated child?

At Shortkutz Hairdressers in Barnstaple, we offer a fun and hands-on Home Education Hairdressing Programme. 💇‍♀️💇‍♂️

📚 How it works:
✨ One online hairdressing session each week
✨ Learn new skills from home
✨ Develop practical, creative and communication skills
✨ The last week of every month – come into the salon and put those skills into practice!

It’s a fantastic way to encourage independence, confidence, creativity, communication and practical skills in a real salon environment. 🌟

It’s about learning something new, having fun and seeing what they can achieve! 💕

🪄✨ FROM NERVOUS TO DRACO MALFOY! ✨🪄

This young man first came into us at the beginning of the summer after not having had his hair cut in a hairdresser’s for some time — and he was understandably very nervous about the whole experience. 🥹❤️

For his first visit, he knew exactly what he wanted… a man bun! So we shaved all the underneath and helped him achieve the look he was after. 💇‍♂️✨

We were SO impressed to see him back with us again so soon! 🥰 It’s lovely to see how much his confidence has grown in such a short time.

Then, at the end of the summer, he came back with a brand-new request — and in his own words, he wanted to “look like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter!” 🪄⚡️

And that’s exactly what we did! 😍

We absolutely LOVE seeing transformations like this — not just the hair transformation, but watching a nervous young person become more confident and comfortable in the salon. ❤️

This lovely adult client came to Pearl after having her extensions fitted elsewhere, and they needed some correcting and reshaping. Pearl worked her magic, carefully correcting the previous work and creating a much softer, more natural-looking finish. 🤍

We offer hair tinsel and other hair accessories in the salon, and I have lots of little regulars who love coming in to add a little sparkle to their hair! ✨💖

When we had our Frozen Party four months ago, the girls had their hair tinsel put in… and would you believe this little girl came in last Saturday to have hers taken out! 😱

FOUR MONTHS of retention! 🤩✨

I’ve also had girls come into the salon who have previously had their hair tinsel and other hair accessories done elsewhere, and their parents have told me that it just doesn’t stay in like ours does.

So honestly… why would you go anywhere else?! 😉✨

And at just £2 per bead, who could say no?! 💕 It’s such a fun and affordable way to add a little sparkle without committing to a permanent change.
