ANTI-WRINKLE injections 🪄 Here are just some of the areas we can treat:

1. Gummy smile - works by relaxing the muscles that lift the upper lip, reducing the amount of gum visible when smiling.

2. Forehead lines - injections are given into the frontalis muscle which is responsible for lifting our brows. Quantity and location is key when injecting this muscle, to give a natural softeness to the forehead without causing heaviness or dropping of the brows.

3. Frown lines - an area which when treated really does lift the face (& the mood 😅).

4. Smokers lines - these are the lines which appear when we pucker our lips. Anti-wrinkle injections here relax the orbicularis oris muscle, which smooths the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines.

5. Sad mouth - here we inject the DAO muscle which causes a downward pull from the corners of the lip downwards. By relaxing this muscle we prevent the formation of jowls and lift the corners of the lip slightly to give a happier face 😅.

6. The underarms - paranoid about sweat marks or excessive sweating? Injections here block the nerve signals that tell the sweat glands to product sweat.

UPPER LIP lines, commonly known as smokers’ lines, are the vertical wrinkles that fan out above the upper lip, and are a common concern of patients visiting the clinic. The primary cause of smokers’ lines is the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin, but smoking, sun exposure and repetitive facial movements, such as puckering of the lips, can all play a part.

Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers can be used to treat these lines, and in the case pictured, we used both.

Anti-wrinkle injections work on the muscles which create the puckering of the lips, they relax them and soften the fine lines. They also prevent new wrinkles forming.

Dermal fillers enhance the shape of the lips and work to support the skin above the lip, therefore again softening the lines above the lip.

This patient loved this combination approach and felt her mouth area was fully rejuvenated 💫
