Many of you are aware, of the very sad passing of Andreas Asprou. A man that a lot of people have had the blessing of meeting. He was a once in a lifetime character that will be sadly missed.

I have spoken to a lot of customers, friends and previous colleagues of Andreas. Who have sent so much love towards the family. It's times like these you see how many good people are still around.

On Thursday 18th June around 11:40-11:50am. Andreas will be making his final journey to work.
We welcome anybody that can't make his funeral to come and bid farewell outside Asprous Barbershop.

Thank You to everyone for your love and support.

For all who wish to attend, my dad Andreas's funeral has been arranged for Thursday, 18 June 2026, at 12:30 pm at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Cardiff.

This will be followed by the burial at Cardiff's Western Cemetery.

Then it is time for us all to celebrate Andreas’s life and share memories together at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club, Ferry Road, Cardiff, Wales, CF11 0JL

Flowers will be received only from close family members. A donation box will be available for contributions to charities of the family’s choice.

My family and I would like to thank you deeply for the support and lovely messages we have received. We are truly grateful, and I know my dad would be, too.

As my dad would always say... "It's good to have a laugh!"

With deepest sorrow, I would like to share the news of the passing of my beloved father, Andreas, yesterday.

Dad was a true legend in the Barry area, and he touched the hearts of everyone he met.

To many, he was the familiar face, the storyteller, the gentleman, the barber, the friend. To us, he was Dad, and we are heartbroken.

We know he meant a lot to so many, and we take great comfort in knowing how loved and respected he was throughout the community.

Thank you for all the kindness, memories and support during this very difficult time.

We are utterly heartbroken, but so proud to call him ours.

Congratulations to last night's quiz team winners - No Toil For Us 🥳 A brilliant night where collectively we raised almost £500, which will be distributed to local good causes by the Barry RT Charity.

🎉 A huge milestone for the legend himself - Andreas Asprou! 🎉

In January, Dad hit the big 8-0, and we celebrated in style with a family holiday to Tenerife! ☀️

For those who don’t know, Andreas is the ‘A’ in A&H Asprou Barbers and the man who started it all in February 1964. That’s 60 years of barbering history right there! 💈👏🏼

I owe everything to him, from who I have become to where I am in life.
He is an absolute gentleman, and for those who know him, I’m sure you will agree.
