Bath Bridal Hair and Make Up

The lovely Megan has just popped me some gorgeous photos from their Botanical Gardens wedding a couple of weeks ago.

You might remember me talking about the veil ‘dilemma’. Though fabulous, it was sooo heavy it pulled Meg’s head backwards - the solution - attach it to her dress.

Doesn’t it look spectacular and totally suited to the wonderful garden venue that the Temple of Minerva nestles within.

The lovely Megan went for a really simple twisted half up style for her wedding last Friday at the Botanical Gardens in Bath.

Her hair was a little short at trial run so I recommended not cutting the back length - the extra centimetre definitely improved it.

She brought the most fabulous floral embellished veil to her practice but it was soo heavy it actually pulled her head backwards. After much discussion, Megan got her veil attached to the dress like a fabulous cape, it worked wonders!

The flowers in her hair were spares from the veil, attached to clips. 🌸💐🌺

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Thinking outside the box did the trick and she looked sooo pretty 💕

Lots of requests for these looks but please bear in mind that if your hair never holds a curl, with the best will in the world, you’ll need to maybe do a couple of things:

Perhaps get a little colour - ideally a few subtle highlights added (this thickens the hair shaft and helps with hold).

Not wash hair on your wedding morning and use one of the shampoos I recommend.

Blow dry previous evening with mousse

Have some long layers added (but not closer than two weeks prior to the wedding please)

Be prepared that on the day if the weather is either damp/rainy or super hot and steamy you might want to reconsider having an updo

Consider adding clip in hair extensions - best brought along to your trial if poss to be pre prepared (curled, trimmed) before the big day

Isn’t it strange how things work out. Just leaving the spa on Friday and got a ‘help, do you have any cancellations’ message. Lisa’s son was marrying next day in Bath and she was hoping to get her hair done. Strangely, she was just about to check in at the same hotel I was about to leave. I popped to reception for a quick chat, got her booked in and this is her final look yesterday!

She has super fine hair and didn’t want it blowing around. When wearing a hatinator or fascinator, it’s really wise to have a professional ‘do’ to add enough body and grip to anchor hairpieces so you can relax and enjoy the day.

What a fun morning, accompanied by hubby, groom to be and his groomsmen.

My lovely model was a little delayed due to work but I managed a quick ‘Frenchie’ updo on her super fine and straight hair. If you’re not sure whether you want an updo, a half up, or all down, don’t stress, we’ll work this all out at your preview trial and give you lots of options.

Don’t delay in booking your wedding hair, we generally get booked around 12 months or so ahead. Always worth asking though and if I can’t help, my lovely VA Emily will be able to recommend great artists who are free.

The gorgeous Hatty was looking for a super laid back hairstyle. She wanted it to look ‘thrown up’ but at the same time to last. The perfect look for an outdoorsy festival-ish wedding (but with a veil)!

Ben’s sister chose a classic but modern updo for Friday’s wedding -very Kim K/Pammy. Her gorgeous blonde multi tonal hair really lent itself to this style and it’s lovely and cool on a hot summer’s day.

Would this work on other colours ? - yes but best to have a few lighter pieces to add texture and show off the style to its best.
