It's with a heavy heart I have to confirm the full closure of feetbyme. 😔
I have struggled with the reopening of the business since the pandemic and have made the decision to not reopen my doors. 😞
I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for your support over the years and the friendships I've made along the way, you have been amazing! ☺️
I will always have a love of foot health care and will always advocate for it but for now it's just not meant to be. 😔

Beautiful medi pedi for all of these feet and I couldn't leave the tiny toes out so they had some varnish applied and had to have a piccy with mummy 💕
It always makes my heart smile at how the little ones like to get involved and I love teaching them a little about feet, such inquisitive little minds 👣💜

When you see a verruca on your child, your heart sinks.💔
What will people think?🥺
What do I do about it?🤔
Am I a bad parent?😭

It happens to us all and it’s more common that you THINK.😥 (You’re not a bad parent BTW)🥰

💜Verrucas are a virus.💜
Part of the Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) Family.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
And what the virus does is “gets into” a host cell and then does some viral-magic to survive.

The virus then hides and produces chemicals to keep it out of the immune systems watchful eye.👀

Any treatment that we use, has to show the virus to the immune system and say “look, it’s here”.👣
Then it could do it’s magic.🌈

BUT, and it’s a big BUT, no treatment is 100% effective.⚠️
(And if someone tells you they have one that is, then call them out, because they are lying)🤥

So what can we do?‼️

Well, there’s a lot but probably the simplest four are:
▪️Time (AKA leave them alone)✔️
▪️Tape - softens the verruca and makes it✔️ more comfy so that number 1 can kick in.
▪️ Needling - create a cell mediated response to give the immune system a wake up call. ✔️

▪️Microwave therapy - heat creates a cell medicate immune response and gives the immune system a wake up call.✔️

If the verruca causes no issue, then 1 and 2 are ideal. If you are getting painful symptoms then 3 and 4 are useful.👣💜
Ultimately it’s about treating you as an individual.🥰

💜A little conversation friends of feetbyme💜

“I remember dropping something on this ages ago. It went black, fell off and then it grew back like this”.😖

I’ve heard it a lot from patients.💜

They dropped a tin of something, 🤔
Maybe a patio slab in the garden 🙄
Or, they were out running a marathon🏃

And these are all real life occurrences!💜

When you damage the place the nail comes from (it’s got a fancy name called the matrix) it often thicken up. 👣
These nails are often unsightly and can be confused with fungal nails.👣

Sometimes - if you have an underlying medical condition - these things can lead to an ulceration under the nail.😕
💜Not nice.💜
Just think how nice they would look with treatment.😁
How comfortable they would feel.💜
(No more fear about getting your feet out in summer, eh?)🌞

We can manage these in a number of ways.👌

▪️Thin the nail down every couple of months to keep it under control.✔️
▪️We can recommend chemicals to help thin the nail.✔️
▪️The nail can be removed and a chemical used to stop it growing back.✔️
(Sounds drastic - but it’s an option)💜👣
