A typical day at work as a self employed holistic therapist 🩷

Something I get asked all the time is why im a female only therapist. And the answer is i dont want to be. Ive been made to become that way.

With a background working in some of Edinburghs best spas, doing treatments on men and women was never an issue. People behaved. And when they didn't, there was always a team to back us up. To look out for our safety. Procedures are in place, personal alarms were worn. And if you ever had to press it, you knew that people were coming through the door within seconds.

All of that changed when I became self employed. And I would love to say that not having that safety net doesn't scare or intimidate me, but it does.

Im not discriminating against men. I know not everyone is pushing boundaries. But it has happened. It happened in the spas and its happened since, so I decided to take the possibility of it happening again away.

Now i only massage females. And a few select men that have been coming to me already. It wasn't an easy decision but it was necessary. Because nobody should feel scared or intimidated at work.

I do know that this doesn't make me a 'treatment room for all' business and im ok with that.
