Let’s talk about your ears
One of the most common questions we hear about HBOT is: “What happens if my ears pop?”
As the chamber pressurises, you may notice your ears popping or feeling a little full — much like the sensation you get when flying.
But there’s no need to worry.
Our team controls the rate of pressurisation throughout your session. We’ll guide you through equalising your ears and, if you need a little more time, we can slow the process down to help you feel comfortable.
Your comfort is always our priority.
A little pressure. A natural adjustment. And a team there to support you.

What happens after a session?
Your Hyperbaric Oxygen ( HBOT) session might be over, but your body continues to adjust afterwards.
Here are a few simple things to keep in mind:
-Stay hydrated – keep your fluids up throughout the day.
-Listen to your body – feeling relaxed or tired? Give yourself time to rest.
-Notice your ears – some fullness or popping can occur following pressure changes.
- Don't expect an instant change – you may notice something after a session, or you may not.
- Think beyond the chamber – sleep, nutrition, hydration and appropriate activity all play a part in recovery.
HBOT is one part of the bigger picture.

Ever wondered what actually happens inside the HBOT chamber?
If you’ve never tried Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, the thought of going inside the chamber can feel a little unfamiliar.
But there’s no need to worry.
Our trained staff control the pressure, increasing it slowly and at a pace tailored to you. You can see and hear our team through the chamber windows throughout your session, and there’s a bell inside if you need to attract our attention.
We’ll check on you regularly, while giving you the space to simply relax and switch off.
And when your session is finished, we gradually reduce the pressure before you leave.

Ever wondered why oxygen under pressure is such a big deal?
It’s not just about breathing more oxygen… it’s about getting more oxygen where your body can use it.
During Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), you breathe high-concentration oxygen inside a pressurised chamber.
This is where Henry’s Law comes in. -
In simple terms, Henry’s Law tells us that the higher the pressure of a gas, the more of that gas can dissolve into a liquid.
So, under pressure, more oxygen dissolves directly into your blood plasma — helping oxygen reach areas of the body that may need it.
And then there’s angiogenesis — a fancy medical word for the formation of new blood vessels.
Oxygen plays an important role in signalling the body to support this process, particularly during tissue repair and healing.
So while you're lying in the chamber thinking, “Well… this is quite relaxing " , there’s actually some fascinating science happening at a cellular level.

Did you know that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) continues to be an active area of medical research?
Researchers are investigating how breathing oxygen under increased pressure may influence the body’s natural healing processes, including tissue repair, circulation, inflammation and neurological function.
Recent research has been exploring HBOT in areas such as:
Brain & Recovery – including post-stroke recovery, cognition and mood
Long COVID – with studies investigating cognition, sleep, pain and quality of life
Musculoskeletal Health – particularly conditions such as avascular necrosis and bone marrow oedema
Inflammation & Healing – investigating how HBOT may affect cellular and inflammatory processes
Some areas have stronger evidence than others, and research is ongoing. That’s why keeping up with the science is so important.
At Oxify, we’ll continue to follow the latest research and share interesting developments with our clients.
The science is evolving — and so is our understanding of what HBOT may be able to offer. 💙💚
