Yesterday was all about Builder Gel, and what a fabulous day it was! 💕💅

I absolutely loved spending the day with these lovely girls, watching their confidence grow as they learnt new techniques and added another valuable skill to their nail businesses.

They all worked so hard, asked brilliant questions and, most importantly, really enjoyed the day! 🥰

✨ LET’S TALK NAIL RETENTION… ✨

One of the biggest misconceptions in the nail industry is that every case of lifting is automatically down to the nail technician.

The truth is, beautiful, long-lasting nails are a team effort between your nail tech and you. 🤍

There are lots of reasons why lifting can happen, and sometimes it has very little to do with the application itself.

Things such as:
🔸 Keeping your enhancements on longer than the recommended 3–4 weeks
🔸 Picking, peeling or biting your nails
🔸 Using your nails as tools
🔸 Filing or reshaping them at home
🔸 Incorrect aftercare
🔸 Previous damage to the natural nail
🔸 Improper removal or over-filing from previous applications

…can all have an impact on how well your nails retain their product.

When enhancements grow out, the structure changes. The apex moves forward, the balance shifts and the stress is no longer distributed where it should be. This increases the risk of lifting, cracks and breakage.

And if you’re a new client, please remember that it can sometimes take a few appointments for your natural nails to recover from previous damage and for us to establish the right preparation, product and routine for you. 🫶🏼

Your nail technician’s job is to provide the correct consultation, preparation, application and advice.

Your job is to:
💗 Follow your aftercare
💗 Attend regular maintenance appointments
💗 Avoid picking and using your nails as tools
💗 Treat your enhancements with care

The best retention doesn’t come from blaming — it comes from understanding, communication and working together.
