14-year-old Maggie is currently in hospital and urgently needs a stem cell transplant to cure her Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

“When we were told that a stem cell transplant was her only option, it felt like another punch in the gut. The hits just kept on coming, especially when at the same time we were informed that her older brother was not a match.

“We see others go about their daily lives outside the hospital, or on social media. Our lives stopped and went on this strange pause on Oct 21st. We are praying for the day that we can press play again.”

“We are sharing this to make people aware of how easy and important it is to go on the register. It saves lives.”

Aww memory lane today, thanks to Jo from Burties Hair Design. Many moons ago,23 to be exact I had a letter published in the Hairdressers Journal thanking my team of wonderful girls who had helped make my pregnancy stress free and a very happy occasion. Jo still had the edition June 4th 1999 and gave it to me today. I love the bit about the affectionate letters.. it was before the days of mobile phones so the girls wrote me chatty notes between clients, (mainly you Carolyn) telling me about life in general so I still felt like part of the working gang .
Very very happy days with Trudie, Carolyn,Jo, lynne, Charlotte, Becky, Joan, Sue,Selina,Karen and Sharon
