Skin transformation is about so much more than what you can see on the surface ✨
When this patient first came to see me, she was concerned by textural irregularities, acne scarring and pigmentation.
It can be tempting to focus solely on what is visible, but healthy skin isn’t built by chasing symptoms alone. To achieve long-term results, we first needed to address what was driving these changes within the skin.
Using a bespoke ZO Skin Health protocol, our initial focus was to stabilise the skin by reducing inflammation and restoring barrier function. This created a stronger, more resilient foundation before introducing corrective treatments.
Due to my patient’s lifestyle and preference to avoid the more intensive anticipated reactions often associated with retinol-based programmes, we have not yet introduced retinol into her treatment plan.
Instead, we achieved these results through a combination of carefully selected in-clinic treatments, including microneedling and a series of superficial and medium-depth chemical peels, alongside a personalised ZO Skin health home care programme.
Only once the skin was functioning more effectively could we begin targeting texture, pigmentation and scarring.
One of the biggest misconceptions in skincare is that results happen overnight. In reality, skin transformation requires patience, consistency and a structured approach. There will often be periods where the skin is adjusting, repairing and renewing before significant improvements become visible.
The beautiful results we see today are not the result of a single treatment or product, but a commitment to the process, patience and a plan tailored to the individual 🤍✨

The Perfect Peel ✨
The Perfect Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel designed to improve skin tone, texture and overall skin health.
What makes it unique is its powerful blend of ingredients, including:
⭐️ Glutathione ~ a potent antioxidant that helps brighten the skin and reduce oxidative damage
⭐️Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) ~ promotes exfoliation and cellular renewal
⭐️Retinoic Acid ~ stimulates cell turnover and improves skin texture
⭐️Salicylic Acid ~ helps reduce congestion and excess oil
⭐️ Kojic Acid ~ supports the treatment of pigmentation and uneven skin tone
⭐️ Vitamin C ~ brightens and protects against free radical damage
⭐️ Phenol ~ enhances pe*******on and overall peel effectiveness
Together, these ingredients work to:
✨ Improve pigmentation and sun damage
✨ Brighten dull, uneven skin tone
✨ Improve acne and acne scarring
✨ Reduce fine lines and signs of ageing
✨ Enhance skin texture and radiance
✨ Stimulate collagen production
As demonstrated by my patient’s results, even a single treatment can deliver noticeable improvements, with the skin continuing to renew and regenerate in the weeks that follow.
For optimal results, a course of 3 treatments is recommended.
Due to the strength and depth of this treatment, a thorough consultation is required to determine suitability and ensure the safest and most effective outcome 🤍✨

✨ Melasma Maintenance Journey ✨
My beautiful patient first came to see me 2 years ago wanting help managing her melasma and improving her overall skin health.
We initially focused on preparing and strengthening the skin using a targeted skin brightening protocol. This stage is so important when treating melasma, as it helps to stabilise existing pigment, reduce inflammation and minimise the risk of rebound pigmentation before introducing more intensive treatments.
Once the skin was properly prepared, we progressed onto a hydroquinone programme for 4 - 5 months to help lift, blend and control the pigmentation more effectively.
Now, over a year later, we have successfully maintained her results using Retinol Skin Brightener 0.5%, alongside ongoing ZO Skin Health support.
Even throughout the summer months, her melasma has remained significantly more stable due to her consistency with the correct skincare and maintenance programme.
We are absolutely over the moon with the improvement in the overall health, clarity and brightness of her skin 🤍✨
This is a perfect example of how managing melasma is not about quick fixes. it requires a structured approach, professional guidance and long-term consistency 👌🏼

Your skin barrier is one of the most important factors in overall skin health ✨
The skin barrier is the outer protective layer of the skin, made up of lipids such as ceramides, cholesterol and free fatty acids. Its role is to keep hydration in, while protecting the skin from external irritants, inflammation and environmental damage.
When the skin barrier is functioning well:
✨ The skin feels calm and balanced
✨ Hydration is retained more effectively
✨ Active ingredients are better tolerated
✨ Inflammation and sensitivity are easier to manage
✨ Overall skin quality appears healthier and more resilient
However, when the barrier becomes compromised, the skin can become reactive and unpredictable.
Common signs of a damaged skin barrier include:
✨ Burning or stinging when applying products
✨ Redness and inflammation
✨ Tightness or dehydration
✨ Flaking or rough texture
✨ Increased breakouts or sensitivity
When the skin barrier becomes compromised, transepidermal water loss (TEWL) increases. This means the skin loses hydration more easily, leading to dehydration, tightness, sensitivity and inflammation.
A weakened barrier is also less able to protect against external irritants, which is why the skin often becomes reactive and less tolerant to active ingredients.
This often occurs from over-exfoliation, excessive use of active ingredients, harsh skincare products, environmental stressors or simply using the wrong routine for your skin.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that more products equal better results. when in reality, barrier repair often requires the opposite.
Healing the skin barrier is about reducing inflammation, restoring balance and supporting the skin with a simplified, structured approach tailored to its needs 🤍✨

May marks the start of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder to prioritise your daily SPF ⭐️
offers a range of broad-spectrum sunscreens to suit every skin type, tone and finish preference—whether you prefer a tinted glow, a sheer feel or a matte look.
What sets ZO® sunscreens apart is their advanced protection. They don’t just shield against UV rays, they help defend your skin from:
➡️ UVA & UVB rays (the main causes of skin damage and ageing)
➡️ HEV light (blue light) from screens and devices
➡️ Infrared-A (IR-A) rays, which contribute to premature ageing
Alongside daily SPF, don’t forget to check your skin regularly. Early detection is key. Use the ABCDE rule:
➡️ A – Asymmetry: One half doesn’t match the other
➡️ B – Border: Edges are irregular, blurred or jagged
➡️ C – Colour: Uneven shades or multiple colours
➡️ D – Diameter: Larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser)
➡️ E – Evolving: Any change in size, shape, colour or sensation
⚠️IMPORTANT: Sunscreen isn’t just for sunny days or holidays, it’s a non-negotiable step in your everyday skincare routine.
If you notice anything unusual or concerning, please get it checked by your GP or dermatologist.

Tired eyes, fine lines, dark circles or crepey under-eye skin? ✨
The under-eye area is one of the first to show signs of ageing and fatigue and one of the most delicate areas to treat safely and effectively.
Plinest is an advanced polynucleotide-based treatment, designed to support skin regeneration at a cellular level. Derived from highly purified DNA fragments, it works to:
➡️ Stimulate collagen and elastin production
➡️ Deeply hydrate and improve skin quality
➡️ Repair and regenerate delicate tissue
➡️ Brighten, smooth and refresh the under-eye area
This is a regenerative treatment that encourages your skin to repair, strengthen and function more efficiently from within.
A great option for those who:
✨Have thin or fragile under-eye skin
✨Are concerned with fine lines, puffiness or dark circles
✨Want subtle, natural-looking results without added volume
Plinest is typically performed as a course of treatments for optimal, long-lasting results. With minimal downtime and progressive improvement, it’s a powerful option for restoring confidence in this delicate area 🤍✨
My patient has had 3 sessions spaced 3 weeks apart to achieve these results above 🔝
