TEN YEARS!!!!! TEN WHOLE YEARS OF SARAMANDA1

A decade ago I had this ridiculous idea to open a hairdressers all because my job at the time stopped me from attending my son’s sports day!

I had never run a business before, I had never employed and managed staff before and I knew nothing about VAT! We have survived a pandemic, a couple of recessions, cancer. Yet we are still going. I have to say a massive thank you here to my Dad and my accountants. You all have had my back over the years.

Let me tell you, running a small business in this day and age is not for the faint hearted. I think Rachel Reeves is set out to destroy us all at the moment. But hey, who doesn’t love a challenge.

I was asked yesterday if I had the strongest team ever. And of course the answer is yes and without them and all of our clients we wouldn’t exist. I thank the entire team and all of you for supporting us.

I obviously am unable to raise a glass of wine tonight. But if you have a glass then please raise it to us on our tenth anniversary. 🩷🩷.

World cancer day….. and I’ve spent the whole day not knowing what to post. I look back on years gone past and all my posts are flooded with positivity and hope. This year I’m struggling to replicate that.

2026 your doing me a bit of a dirty one!

- I want to walk. ….. that’s not a lot to ask for is it? After surgery a few weeks ago I did not expect the recovery to be so tricky. I kind of expected me to be sort of walking. I am not! I’m drugged to high heavens and the pain has failed to do one!

- I’m soooooo tired. It’s ridiculous. Fatigue it’s time to jog on!

Everyone says I have to give it time. So I’m trying my very best. And I honestly know I’m so lucky and grateful to still be here. The positivity, hope and fight are still here somewhere. My clever friend will help me find them.

For now…. Cancer you can f@ right off! Pretty please.
