Vitamin C Elixir is formulated with Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, a highly stable, oil-soluble form that penetrates into the skin and converts to active Vitamin C within the skin, rather than simply working at surface level. Glow is the by-product, not the point.

Most lip balms are built to look good, not to provide lasting hydration.

You apply it. Your lips feel better. Twenty minutes later, you feel like you need it again. And because you need it again, you take that as proof it’s working.

But what if it’s actually proof the hydration isn’t lasting?

Hydration needs two things to work, and most balms only give you one. A humectant pulls water into the surface of the lip. An occlusive, like shea butter sits over the top and seals it in, so it doesn’t evaporate straight back off.

On its own, a humectant draws water in and loses it again within the hour. On its own, an occlusive seals in whatever’s already there, which on dry lips isn’t much. You need both, in that order. Otherwise you’re topping up all day and calling it a routine.

The factor on the bottle isn’t the factor you’re getting.

SPF 50 is only SPF 50 at the amount it was tested at, and most people apply a fraction of that. The Irish Cancer Society puts it at 5ml for the face, fifteen minutes before you’re out, reapplied every two hours in direct sun.
