Why are vitamins so important?

There's a scientific reason why coppers and reds fade quickly.

1. The colour molecules are larger

Red dye molecules are bigger, so they don’t pe*****te the hair shaft as deeply. Because they sit closer to the surface, they wash out faster.

2. They’re more sensitive to water and shampoo

Every time you wash your hair, warm water lifts the cuticle slightly. Since red/copper molecules sit near the surface, they are easily rinsed out.

3. Hair porosity matters

Porous or damaged hair has a harder time holding onto any color—especially red. The cuticle doesn’t close tightly, so the pigment slips out quickly.

4. UV exposure breaks down red pigments

Sunlight fades red and copper tones faster than other colors because these pigments break down more easily under UV light.

5. Color vibrancy requires constant upkeep

Reds are bold but delicate. Keeping them vibrant requires regular toners, glosses, and color-safe products.
